Lifelong romantic Thaddeus Middleton is on the hunt for a wife. He hopes to find a woman more attracted to him than to money. Instead, he finds himself drawn to a spitfire who isn’t interested in him at all! At least, that’s what she says when she’s not kissing him beneath the stars…

Miss Priscilla Weatherby will inherit a fortune… provided she remains unwed and scandal-free. Easy enough, until she meets a man more dangerous than haughty lords and heartless rakes. Thad is a sweet, sexy delight, whose passionate embrace will ruin everything—including her! She’ll sacrifice anything for independence. Even love…

Be still my heart when it comes to Thad because any woman will fall at his feet and for good reason. There are many sparks between these two from the start and it just a matter of time before those sparks turn to flames. I loved that they were very different in their beliefs, but also very much alike when it comes to going after what they want. I did not see the reason for her grandmother’s pushing coming at all, but it was just what she needed. I’d love to see what kind of adventures these two get into.

Priscilla wasn’t expecting her plans to have someone like Thad thrown in the way and make her rethink things. I loved how she helped others and how she was with her grandmother. I cheered when she said no to her father.

Thad may not have a title, but he more charm than all the titled men of the ton put together. I love that he is such a romantic in everything he does and doesn’t let her push him away. He is one of those that you love from the moment you start reading.

Thad will be everyone’s next book boyfriend.

Gertrude, the eldest Killoran sister, has spent a lifetime being underestimated—especially by her own family. She may seem as vulnerable as a kitten, but given the chance, she can be as fierce as a tiger. Her adopted brother, Stephen, has just been snatched back by his true father, and she’ll be damned if she relinquishes the boy to the man reviled throughout London as the Mad Marquess.

Still haunted by a deadly tragedy that left him publicly despised, Lord Edwin holds only hatred for the Killorans—the people he believes kidnapped his son. And not one of them will ever see the boy again. But when Gertrude forces her way into the household and stubbornly insists that she remain as Stephen’s governess, Edwin believes he may have found someone madder than himself.

With every moment he shares with the tenderhearted Gertrude, Edwin’s anger softens into admiration…and more. Is it possible that the woman he loathed may be the only person who can heal his broken soul?

Hate can blind a person, but love can open their eyes and heart again if they will let it in. It’s like a shockwave the moment these two meet and I knew they were going to be a favorite couple of mine. Even Stephen saw what was between them and approved so you know it was meant to be. Every time they revealed something about themselves to each other it made me love them more and more. I was holding my breath when his brother in law started filling his head and I feared what would happen. But I was taken by surprise with how things played out!

I loved seeing Stephen go from the angry boy he was to the boy I knew was inside him. He made me smile with how protective he was of her. I hope he will get his own story when he’s older. I wasn’t sure where he and Edwin were going in the end until they arrived and definitely didn’t see what happened next coming!

Gertrude has always been the quiet one, but her fierce side comes out in this one. She set out to do what she knew was best for Stephen and she wasn’t going to back down. I loved every time she went to him about something because she commanded the room. She was always surprising him and understood him for than he did himself.

Edwin has let hate and fear control his life since that fire, but something about Gertrude chipped away at that stone heart of his. He melted by heart and became my next book boyfriend with his memories of nights with Stephen. His love was stronger than hate and he wasn’t going to let anyone tell him otherwise. I loved what he did to try and win her over.

This is one of my all time favorite books!

In Darkest Days May Bloom by Leila Snow

Bruised but not broken, she stood in the mud of the street, wearing nothing but a tattered shift the day Jonathan first saw her. He had watched in mesmerized fascination as the girl swiped a filthy arm across her split lip, squared her shoulders, and raised her chin in defiance of her assailants. But when, by random happenstance she turned her head and her piercing, blue eyes met his regard, Jonathan knew his entire world had tipped on end.

Charlotte had known nothing but adversity and hardship the entirety of her life. Orphaned at a young age and condemned to fend for herself, she learned to trust no one and rely solely upon her own strength. Yet, when she’s cut down in the street for a crime she didn’t commit and Jonathan comes to her rescue, Charlotte is begrudgingly compelled to the realization that perhaps hope and love do exist in this miserable world.

England, at the end of the 18th century, is a land exemplified by firm divisions between the social classes. What is a life of ease and prosperity for some, is an arduous existence for others. Nevertheless, ’tis true that love can bloom in the unlikeliest of places. But when a grievously injured Charlotte is falsely accused of a crime and sent to one of the most infamous prisons in the land, the tender bud of Jonathan and Charlotte’s love is threatened. Jonathan is forced to defy family in a desperate bid to save her from the hangman, whilst conspiracies and betrayal are afoot in a cruel effort to keep them apart.

Love at first sight and being from two different classes means a long road of difficulty for Jonathan and Charlotte. Every time I thought they caught a break something else was thrown at them. It’s quite clear from the start who is going to be the problem, but I was shocked by how far he would go to keep them apart. I was holding my breath the whole time she was in London hoping he would find her before it was too late. When they finally found each other again there was still a threat that I didn’t see coming.

The added story of her friend was heartbreaking because the hateful way she acted was her way of coping. I was so glad that his brother came to his senses and in the end, he helped so much. The ending left me wanting for and I hope there is more to come.

Charlotte never gave up hope that he would find her and she never stopped fighting. I loved her from the start with how she wouldn’t go down without a fight. She also never gave up on her friend and was willing to do anything to help her.

Jonathan knew he lost his heart the moment he saw her and he didn’t care what anyone thought. He never gave up and wasn’t going to stop until he found her. I loved that he never hid his feelings.

Her father was gunned down by a ruthless gang. Enraged, Rosalie Addis leaves behind everything she knows, including her fiancé, to become a bounty hunter. She rounds up the members of the gang, one-by-one, until only the elusive leader remains. Hell-bent on vengeance, her heart is not prepared when her betrothed, Paden Brooks, shows up with the tip she’s been waiting for. The only catch is that she must marry him.

Paden Brooks has a plan: convince Rosalie to marry him, train her to become a Pinkerton agent, then never let her go! For four years, he’s waited for his beloved to return to him. Finally, when a tip arrives at The Pinkerton Detective Agency, he knows this is his chance to bring her home. However, he quickly discovers Rosalie is not the same girl he knew and loved so long ago. Will that alter his plan?

When the time comes for Rosalie to make a choice, will she choose vengeance or Paden?

How have I not started this series yet?! I was hooked at female bounty hunter and couldn’t put it down after the way she got her latest bounty. There was no denying that they still loved each other, but her thrust for vengeance stands in the way. I loved how they worked together and understood each other. Even when they didn’t agree on things.

Rosalie was letting hate take over her life and didn’t know it. He came back into her life when she needed him most. I loved that she could handle a gun the way she did and that she was so quick on her feet.

Paden never stopped loving her and was willing to take the risk when he found her. He saw the real her and wasn’t going to give up. I loved when he got her to realize she couldn’t run anymore.

At Half Moon House, any woman can come to Hestia Wright for help. She’ll move heaven and earth to make things right for the downtrodden women of England—but she’ll never give her heart to another man.

The Earl of Stoneacre has long admired Hestia. He can’t help but be smitten with a woman with her strength, honor and purpose—not to mention her legendary beauty. But she’s made her indifference plain, and Stoneacre is not a man to push in where he’s not wanted.

Now they’ve been ordered to work together to defeat the Wicked Lord Marstoke once and for all. As the uneasy allies face untold peril and confront their pasts, trust and passion grow . . . but the greatest danger of all might be succumbing to a love that could never survive the obstacles in their way.

Hestia finally gets her happily ever after in more ways than one! There’s always been something between them waiting to bloom and she can no longer ignore it when they are forced to work together. The longer they were together the closer they got and it was just a matter of time before they both realized it was forever. When she believed that letter I wanted to scream!

I did not see who was giving the info to Marstroke coming at all. None of my guesses were close even after the story of the person was told. It was a shock from the time that person was revealed to the end of everything. The ending was absolutely perfect!

Hestia has spent years putting others first and living behind a mask, but Stoneacre makes her want to drop the mask and live again. I’ve loved getting to know her throughout the books and this one just makes me love her more. She survived so much but was never broken. The scene with Stoneacre’s mother was another shock and so good!

Stoneacre has never hid his feelings when it came to Hestia and he sees through her mask like no one else. I loved that he never pushed her about the past, but pushed her to feel again. He would never give up on her are judge her for anything.

After one passionate night a decade ago, Valentine Fairfax, Duke of Eastleigh, never forgot Isabelle, the intelligent, witty and forbidden daughter of a head of college at Oxford. However, since suffering a disastrous marriage to an unfaithful wife, the duke has vowed never to succumb to temptation again. Until the day he discovers his friend’s governess is the one woman who still haunts his dreams.

Once penniless, Isabelle Cortland has finally saved enough money to finance a school for impoverished girls. But when a chance encounter rekindles buried desires, Isabelle knows she can’t be a duke’s mistress and a headmistress at the same time. No longer a naïve girl, Isabelle won’t repeat the past. Not even for one night of surrender…

Meet the unforgettable men of London’s most notorious tavern, The Wicked Duke. Seductively handsome, with charm and wit to spare, one night with these rakes and rogues will never be enough…

They are two very stubborn people set on never marrying again, but fate has other plans for them. That spark was still there and hadn’t dulled in the past ten years. I loved that every time they tried to stay away from each other something would toss them together. Surrendering once wasn’t going to be enough for either of them. I loved how his sister and grandmother got involved and didn’t beat around the bush.

Isabelle loves her independence and isn’t going to let a sudden change make her relay on anyone. I loved that she wasn’t going to let anything stop and how educated she was.

Val knew they had something special all those years ago and knows he can’t let her go this time. I loved everything he did to make sure she was taken care of and that he knew it was her with his sister.

I hope his sister has a story coming soon because she was amazing and I wouldn’t mind seeing his grandmother again.
