What’s a future duke to do when the most unsuitable woman possible captures his heart?

Eden had tried to avoid even a hint of scandal her whole life.
Plowing headlong into the Marquis of Sterling and dropping eggs on his boots wasn’t the most foolish thing Eden Haverden had ever done. Imprudently agreeing to take the charming rogue home when his horse went lame wasn’t either. But reluctantly accepting Chester’s invitation to stay the night at his familial estate after she nearly drowned? Yes, that assuredly was a rash decision and invited utter ruin. So why doesn’t she listen to her common sense?

The DeCourcy sins have haunted Chester his entire life.
Determined to create a new legacy for the tainted duchy, Manchester’s every action and decision are governed by diligence and discipline. A man of reason and purpose, he should not be distracted by the wholly unsuitable Eden Haverden. Not only is she the illegitimate offspring of his father’s arch enemy, she’s also the sister of the man who’d killed his brother. Why then, can’t he resist the powerful connection between them?

Can Chester convince Eden to put aside their families’ feud and trust him with her heart and love?

I absolutely love the magic of this one! Fate brought them together and nothing was going to keep them apart. The moment they met their common sense and ways of doing things went out the window. They definitely had obstacles to get past, but none were like his father.

I got giddy when they were told the meaning behind the rose. Then I was holding my breath with his father’s last attempt, but loved that scene and how it played out. I was just beginning to think he had changed when that happened. At least I wasn’t wrong about her brother in the end even though that scene had me on the edge of my seat. The proposal was one of the best I’ve read.

Eden is very different from any of the women Chester could meet. She has a fun collection of pets and stands her ground against anyone. I loved her right away because she didn’t hold back her thoughts about anything.

Chester is also very different from the men Eden is used to. He doesn’t bat an eye at her birth and will do anything for her and her mother. He loved to be one step ahead of his father and jumped at the chance put him in his place.

I loved in the end how everything worked out for everyone.

Notorious whip Giles Langford is surprised to learn his blacksmith is a girl, shocked to realize she’s the out-of-his-league sister of a duke, and horrified to discover he’s fallen in love with the impossible-to-tame woman anyway. With no money and no title, Giles has nothing to offer but his heart…

Felicity Sutton knows poverty firsthand, and she’s never going back. She might miss the smithy, but not the relentless desperation of no home and an empty belly. Of course she’ll accept the stability of a wealthy ton suitor. As for the penniless daredevil she loves, well… At least they’ll have one night to remember.

Races, a smithy, and disguises make Felicity’s story such a unique one. The moment the met and were forced to work together there was a spark between them and it got stronger as every day went by. Anyone that saw them together knew they were meant to be together, but it wasn’t until that race that they both knew. The scene in the club was one of the best ever! This story is one of my top favorites ever.

Felicity has dreams of starting a charity to help children and only one man will make her brother happy and support her dream. But once she meets Giles her heart changes her plans. I love her from the first time she was introduced in this series. Her eyes are opened to a different way of life that could give her the best of both worlds.

Giles may not have a title or the money of the ton, but he lives a comfortable life. He shows Felicity that she can have what her heart wants without giving up true self. I loved him more and more every time he raised her up with his works and how he was with his parents.

He’s entirely the wrong sort of man. That’s what makes him so utterly right.

After a horrific marriage, widow Everleigh Chatterton is cynical and leery of men. She rarely ventures into society, and when she must, she barely speaks to them. Her one regret for refusing to marry again is that she’ll never bear children. As a favor to a friend, she reluctantly agrees to attend a Christmas house-party. Unfortunately, Griffin, Duke of Sheffield is also in attendance. Even though Everleigh has previously snubbed him, she can’t deny her attraction to the confident, darkly handsome duke.

For almost a year, Griffin has searched for the perfect duchess to help care for the orphan he’s taken on. He sets his sights on the exquisite, but unapproachable widow after her sweet interactions with the child impress him. Everleigh vows she’s not interested in him or any other man. But Griffin is convinced he can thaw her icy exterior and free the warm, passionate woman lurking behind the arctic facade. Only, as he pursues her, it’s his heart that’s transformed.

Can Everleigh learn to trust and love again? Will Griffin get his Christmas wish and make her his bride? Or, has he underestimated her wounds and fears and be forced to let her go?

This book is part of a series but it can be read as a stand-alone.
Get this romantic heart-warming Regency Yuletide story you’ll want to read in one sitting.

Even with the dark subject matter of Everleigh’s marriage, this is a heartwarming magical Christmas story. They both thought the worst of each other until that moment in the ballroom with little Sarah. Their hearts were lost to each other in an instant, but they needed to open their hearts to it completely. I loved the scene with Sarah saying her three wishes and could just picture everyone’s reactions.

Everleigh’s life was controlled by a horrible event forcing her to marry and suffer one of the worst loses. Now with both horrible men dead she has freedom and won’t be controlled by a man again. I loved how she got stronger over time and handled the other Mrs. Chatterton. She knew what she needed before agreeing to marry Griffin and helped her heal more.

Griffin knew there was more to Everleigh than what the rumors said and see’s she isn’t an ice queen with Sarah. I loved how open and understanding he was with her even though he didn’t like her condition to thinking about his proposal. He knew he couldn’t let her go.

The ending was perfect and I loved what happened with the other Mrs Chatterton.

Nothing found in the sands of Egypt is as valuable as the treasure of the heart.

Crispin Herrick, the newly minted Duke of Litton is anxiously awaiting his first mission as a King’s agent. Until then, a dig in the King’s Valley he’s sponsoring occupies his time… until he chases down a criminal at the Antiquities Museum. Once he catches her, he’s shocked and delighted to discover she’s the same woman he flirted with in London a year ago, but now she’s as skilled in lying as she is in keeping secrets.

Miss Juliana Barrington lives under an assumed identity in Cairo, exiled there when her last mission for the Crown went catastrophically awry. All she wants is to redeem herself by finding a powerful relic before her enemies can, but when her path crosses that of the handsome ex-pawn broker, she can’t help but panic. No matter how her heart twinges, mixing desire with duty is a horrible idea.

Crispin and Juliana join forces to find the pieces of the Staff of the Gods, allegedly belonging to Moses himself. Danger dogs their footsteps while romance flickers to life as the days go by, and when the trail leads to a mysterious tomb in the Valley of the Kings, treasure hunting evolves into running for their lives. Staying ahead of disaster is critical; evildoers and death are powerful foes, but hard-fought victory might bring happy endings… if they can survive long enough.

Sandra does it again with another thrilling adventure and the heartbreaking story of Juliana. They both get a shock when they run into each other again in Egypt and a bigger shock when they realize they are both agents. Mile knew putting them together was what they both needed for different reasons. I loved every bit of the story they uncovered about Moses and the Staff. I didn’t see the reason the villain wanted it coming and was holding my breath for that whole part of the book.

Juliana and Crispin balance each other out perfectly when they need to. They never denied the passion between them. They were faced with many challenges and were both willing to die for the other. I loved the added magic to the ending and the gesture of Crispin’s with the file.

Juliana is a shattered woman that blames herself for a failed mission that hit close to home for many. She coped in the only ways she could and held everything in. My heart broke for her when she finally opened up completely. She had to learn that it wasn’t her fault and to believe in herself again.

Crispin wasn’t going to let Juliana blame herself or give up on herself. I loved how levelheaded he was until someone said the wrong thing about Juliana. He was willing to do whatever she needed to heal and feel again.

Miles grows a bit more with every book as the head of the agents.

You don’t have to read the first book to enjoy this one they both stand alone. The Scent of Roses offer a little of everything romance, mystery, suspense and even a little paranormal. It is a book that will keep you up half the night reading because you don’t want to put it down. I loved the characters and the butler really stood out to me. About the author:

Bestselling author Charlene Raddon began writing in 1980 after waking up from a dream she knew had to appear in a book. She dragged out a portable typewriter and began writing. That book took nine years to write, as she learned her craft at the same time. A time travel, it has not yet been published. Next, she wrote Tender Touch (Brianna), entered it into the Colorado Gold contest, historical division, and won. That victory prompted her to enter the RWA Golden Heart Contest and Tender Touch became a finalist. She acquired an agent and a year and a half later, signed a three-book contract with Zebra Books, an imprint of Kensington Books.

In 1999, when the historical market plummeted and western romance became almost impossible to sell, she took a hiatus from writing, but her imagination wouldn’t leave her alone. Eventually, she got back into the game. In 2011, she won back her rights to her books and had them released as eBooks by Tirgearr Publishing. In 2012 Tirgearr released two of her books in print, Taming Jenna and Tender Touch.

Charlene grew up near Los Angeles but always felt she was in the wrong place and time. She yearned to live in a small town, maybe on a farm. Her ancestors had all been farmers. Perhaps her blood was calling to her. In 1971, she got her chance and moved to Nephi, Utah, a town of about 3,000. But the need for paying work forced her to move again and she ended up in the Salt Lake Valley. Now, she finds herself once again in a big city, still yearning to move to a small town.

Her most recent work is Maisy’s Gamble. At the moment, she has a new novella in an anthology called Under a Mulberry Moon up for preorder. A series called Widows of Cougar Creek is under development.

In 2011, Charlene’s artistic nature prompted her to try a different path and she began designing book covers. Today, she has a long list of clients and her own cover site, where she specializes in historical romance covers, primarily western.

Her writing and graphic arts business keeps her mightily busy and happy. But she always has time for family, travel, and helping other authors.

The Beast of Blades by Rosamund Winchester

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Spice Level: 💋💋💋

A man as cold and hard as the blades he wields, Brendan Rees is only interested in completing his mission, cutting his family’s ties to the Spanish, and returning to Wales. But his interests shift when he comes face to face with an intriguing and utterly ravishing “lad”. His curiosity piqued, he offers Rio a place in his crew, and his curiosity pays off in the form of a wicked diversion.

Anamaria “Rio” Florian has spent her life on the streets of Calais, pretending to be a boy, and stealing and hiding to survive. But when the opportunity to make a better life is offered, she takes it, hoping that her greatest secret never comes to light. Because if it does, she may just fall into a trap set by The Beast.

As the two battle with wits and passion, they discover that there is more to their attraction than they ever thought possible. But when Revenge comes for them, will they be able to overcome the greatest threat to The Beast and his most precious treasure?

A passion like theirs is unmistakable to those around them and it will fuel them in battle with La Revanche. These two don’t mince words or hold back when it comes to their feelings for each other. The attraction was there from the moment they met face to face which confuses Brendan until a stupid choice lands them in the water tangled together. Both are willing to die to save the other when they have to fight, but together they are a force to be feared.

I didn’t see who was involved coming at all and that whole battle scene was amazing. There was no way to be sure who would come out alive or what would happen next. I knew a cousin would show up and was excited to see it was Rose because she is always to the point.

Rio knew the letter she found in the satchel was important and it could mean enough money to take care of her and the boys. I loved her from the start because saw a way to better their lives and went for it. She could handle herself and protect those around her without a second thought. I love how she knew exactly what to say to make him run to see Rio.

Brendan lives up to his name La Bête in so many ways. He can battle like no other and makes it clear what he wants and will get it. I normally don’t like a hero that is this sure of himself in getting what he wants in bedroom scenes. But the way he is written makes me really like him because he’s doesn’t give off a controlling vibe.

The ending scene with La Revanche is just so perfect and will make you shiver with how it ends. It has the vibes of the final “you have be weighed” scene from A Knight’s Tale but goes just a bit farther and I love it!

One Night of Scandal by Darcy Burke

Jack Barrett is an ambitious member of parliament with no time or desire for a wife. When he catches the Duke of Eastleigh’s sister sneaking inside one of London’s private gentlemen’s clubs, he’s shocked—and dangerously charmed—and assumes the role of protector, only to discover she has the means to destroy him.

Social pariah Lady Viola Fairfax masquerades as a man to pen a column in a popular women’s magazine. When she stumbles upon a brewing scandal that implicates a prominent MP, she seizes the chance to establish herself as a real journalist. However, the infuriating and intoxicating man may not be the radical he’s purported to be, and the more time they spend together, the more she risks the one thing she’s sworn never to do: fall in love.

I knew after Viola took Isabelle to the Wicked Duke that her story was going to be fun. It’s clear from the moment he stopped her that he wasn’t going to be put off from her easily. Their search to find out the scandal was dangerous and I did not see the twist of who took care of everything coming at all. I loved how they just clicked and were able to talk to each other about anything. They way they got engaged was very different, but fit them perfectly.

Viola has managed to keep men at bay because of the past, but Jack is not like the other men. I loved when she grabbed him at the ball and how bold she was in every moment. She tried hard to please her grandmother.

Jack wasn’t looking for love, but it found him. I loved how ahead of his time he was and that he was willing to help her. He would do anything to protect her.

I loved her grandmother after what happened in the park because she did not act as I expected.
