Her father was gunned down by a ruthless gang. Enraged, Rosalie Addis leaves behind everything she knows, including her fiancé, to become a bounty hunter. She rounds up the members of the gang, one-by-one, until only the elusive leader remains. Hell-bent on vengeance, her heart is not prepared when her betrothed, Paden Brooks, shows up with the tip she’s been waiting for. The only catch is that she must marry him.

Paden Brooks has a plan: convince Rosalie to marry him, train her to become a Pinkerton agent, then never let her go! For four years, he’s waited for his beloved to return to him. Finally, when a tip arrives at The Pinkerton Detective Agency, he knows this is his chance to bring her home. However, he quickly discovers Rosalie is not the same girl he knew and loved so long ago. Will that alter his plan?

When the time comes for Rosalie to make a choice, will she choose vengeance or Paden?

How have I not started this series yet?! I was hooked at female bounty hunter and couldn’t put it down after the way she got her latest bounty. There was no denying that they still loved each other, but her thrust for vengeance stands in the way. I loved how they worked together and understood each other. Even when they didn’t agree on things.

Rosalie was letting hate take over her life and didn’t know it. He came back into her life when she needed him most. I loved that she could handle a gun the way she did and that she was so quick on her feet.

Paden never stopped loving her and was willing to take the risk when he found her. He saw the real her and wasn’t going to give up. I loved when he got her to realize she couldn’t run anymore.

After the death of his father, Nicholas, Duke of Blackbourne, begrudgingly left behind his distinguished naval career to assume his proper role in Society. As he settles into the boring life of an aristocrat, he discovers that he has inherited something far worse than boredom, something that he is wholly unprepared for… an eighteen-year-old ward.

Heiress Penelope Foster was banished to Miss Bell’s Finishing School only days after her parents died in a tragic accident. Five years later, she is still bitter about her guardian’s neglect. Her only goal is to avoid the duke and the dreaded marriage mart until she meets her majority. Then she will control not only her inheritance but will have the freedom to marry for love.

Nicholas is duty-bound. Penelope is stubborn. Neither expect to find the other so intriguing, but when they are caught in a tangled web of greed and deceit, they will have to decide whether they are willing to risk everything for love.

A very feisty spitfire and a use to his orders being followed duke make for a very fun and interesting couple. They went toe to toe from the start and it was always a laugh to see what would happen. I knew someone was going to try something and it was the person I thought it would be. But they were even creepier than I thought. I had to roll my eyes at the first proposal because I knew he would go back to orders.

Penelope is a quick thinker and won’t be told what to do. I loved her the moment she came up with her plan to make him leave. She could do anything she set her mind to and see right through his gruff persona to his heart.

Nicholas blames himself for a tragic accident and has locked away all emotions. He comes off as a strict person, but you get hints of the real him throughout the books. I loved that he was so protective of her, but also couldn’t hide his feelings.

His mother, best friend, and her cousin all made me smile. They all play important roles in getting them together and providing some laughs at times.

Lord Morgan Easton is, first and foremost, an agent of the Crown. To achieve his purposes, he has become Society’s golden boy, and a renowned rake. When it’s discovered that notorious French spy, Genet, is attending a house party in a small seaside village, he is tasked to infiltrate the gathering and arrest the spy. But first, he must convince a certain woman to become his partner and pose as his wife. The challenge is that she would rather see him dead.

Miss Josette Northcott guards her secrets fiercely, trusts few, and enjoys the anonymity that goes along with being the headmistress of a private school in the rookeries. When Lord Morgan offers her a deal she can’t refuse, she makes it clear that this is nothing more than a business arrangement. No man, no matter how charming or infuriatingly handsome he is, can know the truth of her sordid and twisted past.

As a nefarious plot begins to unfold, threatening the stability of two countries, Morgan and Josette must learn to trust each other in order to stop the assassination of both the King of France and their own prince regent. However, trust does not come easily to either agent, and when the truth of Josette’s past is finally unveiled, will they be able to accept that not only is their mission on the line, but their hearts, as well?

My new favorite in the series! These two will make you smile from the start because they drive each other crazy. They battle with each other but make a great team when it comes to catching a spy. Once at the house party I had a feeling of who it was but wasn’t sure until it was revealed. After that everything was a hold your breath kind of moment full of twists I didn’t see coming.

It wasn’t just the mission that was full of twists. I never saw any of the twists with Josette’s past coming up when they did. She and Morgan are very different from each other but fit so well with each other. He won’t let her run from everything.

Josette is a very strong woman to have survived what she did, but it has left her ready to run when she feels her walls coming down. She broke my heart with her fear of being controlled blaming herself for things that she had no control over.

Morgan is a natural charmer and he is determined to find out her secrets. I loved him from the start because he never hid his feelings knew he couldn’t let her go. He would do anything to protect her and hurt anyone that hurt her.

I loved that no one has learned not to tell Eliza what to do yet. There’s so much good stuff in this one, but I don’t want to give away anything! A must read.

Miss Judith Whitton, youngest niece of the Duke of Danby, is not yet married. Having met John Copley one year ago at her first Christmas in Yorkshire, she is puzzled that John has not yet offered for her, especially after the intimacies they shared. * Mr. Alfred FitzHerbert knows why Copley has not offered for Judith: Copley is a scoundrel. If Alfred can distract Judith from her fatal infatuation with Copley successfully, Danby will fund his bridge project. Distract, not wed. No one looking at Alfie could ever imagine him being any girl’s fatal attraction, an insult no true Englishman can be expected to ignore, not even one nicknamed ‘the archbishop.’

Never underestimate the Duke of Danby’s reach! This is a whirlwind romance that will have you waiting for the next surprise. You never know what is going to happen with them. I loved the ending and what happened with Copley.

Judith isn’t completely blinded by love. She is a surprise at every turn because you think she will do one thing and she does the opposite. I loved how she acted in the end.

Alfie Thought he knew the Duke of Danby better than anyone. I loved that he was so sure of himself and his plan. He was what she needed and didn’t know it.

Disheartened but not defeated, Gavin MacBride temporarily abandon’s plans for restoring the family coffers to escort his sister-in-law’s long-lost relative to Yorkshire for a reunion. Gavin might have failed to secure funds to ensure his family’s future prosperity, but surely, he can deliver a young woman to Danby Castle in one piece. * Heiress Victoria Eastland isn’t making his job easy, though, especially when she sets off for Yorkshire alone. With no carriages for hire at the local coaching inn, Gavin is resigned to give chase on horseback in inclement weather, but a Good Samaritan takes pity on Gavin and invites him to share his coach. Soon, the newfound friends are led on a merry chase that ends with a bold rescue and an unexpected discovery. The outspoken, foolishly brave Miss Eastland has been under Gavin’s nose the whole time—and a little too close when one is unprepared to lose his heart.

One of the funniest cases of mistaken identity I’ve read! The whole chase was hysterical and ended very well for everyone. They were instantly drawn to each other and you wonder if the Duke of Danby had planned it or not. I knew there was more to the story of her family than she thought. I wish it had been longer.

Victoria is not a woman you want to make mad and she can take care of herself. She was not going to be told what to do by anyone, but she also didn’t hold back from what her heart said.

Gavin was determined to do something right for his family. He’s one of the few that isn’t afraid of the Duke of Danby. He also didn’t hold back from his heart.

Identical twins, Ladies Lily and Amelia Woodward may look the same, but they’re as different as night and day. Ever-dutiful Lily is resigned to whatever destiny their great-uncle the Duke of Danby has in store for her, while free-spirited Amelia is determined to fight His Grace every step of the way. With Christmas upon them, the Woodwards set out for Danby Castle and stumble across an overturned coach and a pair of handsome gentlemen in peril. Will this fateful encounter alter the future for both sisters and the likely plans the duke had in store for all of them?

My Review

The Duke of Danby is at it again and this time it’s double the work. I think this is the most we’ve heard him talk or leave his study. You have two romances going on at once, but they blend perfectly together. Brought together because of a carriage accident their brother Jamie is going out of his mind trying to watch his sisters for different reasons. Lily and Richard are a love at first sight couple that are perfect for each other. They just have misunderstandings and a curse to get past.  Amelia and Daniel’s romance is more lust filled because she’s loved him from afar and he just now see her for her. Theirs is one that is fast, but sweet and you know they are going to be happy.

Lily takes life as it comes and is very level-headed. She doesn’t hide her feelings and has no secrets. I loved how she is with everyone and doesn’t hold back with him. She is the opposite of her sister and the center of her family.

Richard had a plan that was derailed as soon as he met Lily. I loved how he instantly was taken with her and quickly regretted his plan as soon as it was out of his mouth. He needed the Duke without realizing it.

Amelia is dramatic and afraid of what the Duke has planned for her. She can come off as childish, but really isn’t and is very sweet. I loved how she just came up with a plan and didn’t hesitate to ask.

Daniel isn’t really as perfect as he appeared back in Lady Grace’s Husband Hunt. He has a very passionate side that comes out around Amelia. I was so happy to see him get a happy ending.

This Christmastide, she’s determined to uncover the truth—and start a scandal of her own.

But when he meets Lady Chastity, he’s drawn to her compassion and adventurous spirit. For the first time, he’s thinking of his own future. ‘Tis the season for merry mischief, so to win Chastity’s heart, he’ll have to be a little bit wicked.

With kisses underneath the mistletoe, Chastity’s scandalous quest might just turn into the love of a lifetime…

My Review

A forgotten letter was all it took to ignite Chastity and pull her from the shadows. These two are very different, but also alike in many ways. Their first meeting set the tone for the story and it does not disappoint. I loved how they brought out the best in each other and some of the wickedness too. It hurt my heart to see her and her sister at odd, but it just makes me more excited for the next story. I laughed at their brother with how he was acting and absolutely loved the ballroom scene.

Chastity is ready to be herself and have some scandalous fun at the same time. She really struggled after finding that note, but without it, she would still be in the shadows. I loved that she was ready to take on anyone and didn’t care what others thought.

Bastian is one of the shyest and quiet lords I’ve seen. He puts everyone else first and doesn’t think he’s worth notice. I loved seeing him go from shy and quiet to ready to fight because of her. He needed her more than he knew.

Descended from witches burned at the stake, Lady Emilia Noble knows all too well how society persecutes the different. She trusts no one but her own siblings, never daring to reveal to anyone outside the family that she, like her grandmother before her, can read a person’s emotions through the changing colors of their aura. When her brother’s foolhardy boast that he can predict the future entangles him with the unscrupulous Lord Abernathy, Emilia is faced with a new threat: the ruination of the family’s finances and the unmasking of their secret past.

Until Emilia meets Felix Hunter, the Duke of Kintore. For years, Felix has watched as his immoral uncle, Lord Abernathy, has cast shame upon their family through his dishonest machinations. Determined that Abernathy won’t hurt anyone else, he vows to help Emilia resolve her family’s debts. He’s been drawn to her since the moment he met her, and slowly, she begins to trust him too. But when Abernathy threatens to reveal the Noble family’s supernatural gifts, Emilia’s worst nightmare becomes a very real reality.

Can Felix and Emilia’s love triumph over the forces of evil, or are they fated to be perpetually alone?

When love is mixed with magic, anything can happen.

Fate brought them together with a little help. The moment they met they were drawn to each other and had no idea what was in store for them. I loved that they are a bit opposite in some things, especially in intense situations. I was surprised in the end with how he fixed things and that note has me excited for her siblings.

Emilia always puts her siblings first and will do anything to protect them. I loved how she wasn’t afraid and didn’t back down. She still had much to learn about her gift, but she let fate lead her without knowing it.

Felix has taken care of his uncle for years and nothing seems to shock him anymore. I loved that he always seemed to be calm and able to understand anything thrown at him. He knew what he had to do for himself and her family.

Sit still. Be quiet. Obey.

Adora has lived her entire life under her mother’s strict rules, but when obedience means marrying a man twice her age, something deep within her snaps. Fleeing the night of her wedding, she boards what she assumes is a trade ship and hides among the cargo she hopes won’t be touched until she’s far away from the life she left behind.

She never anticipated being found.

Or finding Fenix.

Fenix believes in freedom, expression, and adventure. When a woman in a wedding gown is found in the belly of his ship with eyes like fire and the disposition of something almost broken, he wants nothing more than to release the flames and mend the cracks.

But with her past catching up to them, he may not have the chance.

My Review

I was excited to read from page one with her hiding in her wedding dress. But there wasn’t enough background for me to get to know them. I think if it had been longer the romance could have sparked between them more. I expected a twist at some point that would bring them closer or reveal something, but it didn’t happen. I did love the scenes of them climbing, looking at the sky, and with the puppy. They were both different from what you would expect.

Adora is a strong girl to run when she did and not show fear. I really like how open she could be with others. She could fight too when needed.

Fenix is not your typical pirate and is very caring. I loved him with the puppy and how he was with his crew.

I think this would be a great quick read for younger girls that love HEA stories, but wouldn’t enjoy historical ways of speaking. So they get a feel for it without that part with the way this is written.

A mystery of stolen antiquities has Kat Holloway setting aside her apron once again for the intrigues of the upper echelons of Victorian London

Priceless artwork has gone missing from the home of a wealthy baronet, and his wife stands to take the blame. When Kat’s employer asks for help in clearing her friend’s name, Kat trades her kitchen for the homes of Mayfair’s wealthiest families.
Soon antiques are disappearing not only from the extravagant households of connoisseurs and collectors, but from the illustrious British Museum.

As the thefts increase in frequency, Kat calls upon her friend Daniel McAdam, who has already set himself up in a pawnshop on the Strand as a seedy receiver of stolen goods. When a man is murdered in the shop, Kat must use all of her wits to see that the thieves are caught and justice is done.

My Review

Kat and Daniel are back for another nail-biting mystery that you will never figure out. There are mysteries inside mysteries that will keep you guessing. I love seeing favorite characters again and meeting new ones as they all come together to solve everything. Every time I thought I had things figured out something would have me second guessing myself. Be prepared to hold your breath multiple times and ready to cheer at other times. The kiss of romance between them and others just adds to everything.

Kat is using her skills again and finding her self in trouble again. I loved getting to know her a bit more and seeing her bring people together too. She makes friends and helps others that you wouldn’t expect.

Daniel is slowly opening up, but still has a mystery surrounding him. I was so glad that more about him was in this story because it made him more understandable. He will do anything to protect those he cares about.
