My Review

This is going on my All Time Favorites list! You will go through so many emotions while reading this one from happy to anger to sadness and back to happy. I loved the twist with how he found out the truth and the connection they had right away. I really wanted something to happen to her parents because they are beyond horrible. They shocked me every time they were around. The ending was amazing and perfect! I was so excited to see how things turned out for them.

Dora is broken body and soul. I felt so connected to her because she was different. I hated seeing her torn down and she needed someone to pull from the dark. I almost screamed when she stood up to her parents and then was afraid of what would happen next.

Allon was pulled from his darkness and now he will return the favor. I loved him right away because he’s smart, a bit sneaky, and what dreams are made of. I was not expecting what he said to her parents at all. When he went in the house I cheered.

*I was provided a copy for my honest review.

This one is so different from any other that I have read and it is amazing! You will not be able to predict how it ends at all. I was hooked from the start in the ballroom when it was clear to everyone what they thought of each other. I somewhat felt bad for her husband especially after the duels, but the twist in the end killed that feeling and he got what he deserved. There were sparks from the start between them and I wanted them together so much. The ending was perfect and I loved how everyone ended up.

Cecily was not going to become one of the ladies that turned a blind eye to her husband’s doings. I loved her right away because she did not hide her feelings from anyone and was set on finding a way to have her freedom again. I cheered her on every time she stood up to someone.

Stephen was such an honorable man that would help both of them in any way he could. I loved him because he realized he couldn’t always fix something and when he let her loose with the pool cue. He blamed himself for things that weren’t his fault and needed to let go of that feeling.

I loved her friends because they were helping to plot and I loved her father because he made sure the contracts were in her favor. I would also fear him too because he would protect her.

“Stephen!” she gasped, shocked by what he seemed intent upon doing. “What on earth are you doing?”
He looked up at her, smiling lustily. “Nothing.”
And then he went about his business.
Not in a million years had she ever imagined allowing a man to do… this!
And with his mouth no less!
“Oh, my God! Stephen, you are wicked,” she said, feeling quite wicked herself as she grasped the sides of his head.
He was not to be deterred. His tongue stroked and sucked in much the same way he’d done with her mouth, causing a new multitude of sensations to spiral inside of her.
He paused only a moment to look up at her.
“Surrender, Cecily.” He said. Giving her a lazy, sensual smile, “And prepare to die.”

A little about the music in the trailer…

The song for the trailer was written by myself and my sister, Marcie Stanley. Marcie’s beautiful voice is featured while she plays the piano… Due to illness, Marcie doesn’t perform much anymore so it was very special for me to be able to use the song that we wrote together, over twenty years ago.
The Song is titled “Disposable Relationship.” I have a few tweeks for the lyrics to fit Stephen and Cecily’s situation. Next time Marcie is up to recording I’ll change them to this:
For you, I would have done anything.
For you, can NOT have my soul.
For once you looked at me with empty eyes, the consequences… began to roll…
You’re a disposable relationship, damn the ton I’ll see your body gone. I’m throwing away a piece of my heart with you.
with the ash and the chamber pots of my life… you’re going down and I won’t cry… anymore…

Married to the same man for over 25 years, Annabelle Anders is mother to three children and two Miniature Wiener dogs. After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, she and her husband got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything; their business, their home, even their car.

At this point, she put her B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender.

Unwilling to give up on a professional life, she simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management.

And then the energy market dropped off.

And then her dog died.

We can only be grateful for this series of unfortunate events, for, with nothing to lose and completely demoralized, she sat down and began to write the romance novels which had until then, existed only in her imagination.

She is happy to have found her place in life.

Finally.

I write under the name ANNABELLE ANDERS and my first book, Hell Hath No Fury released on 7-7-17. I love the date!

Anyway, my novel is an edgy Regency Romance. I say ‘ edgy’, because it’s a little off the beaten path. Whereas most heroines in Regency Romances begin the story NEEDING a husband, my character, Cecily, needs to get rid of one. The man she married (an earl) turned out to be a complete and utter toad (not literally! LOL)

My QUESTION FOR THIS GIVEAWAY is: Does it bother you that the hero is not the man she is married to in the beginning? E-mail your comment to andersannabelle@gmail.com along with your address and I’ll send you a Hell Hath No Fury Tasseled Bookmark. (First 20 Respondents) Please include the name of the group or blog you are responding from 🙂

I look forward to discovering your thoughts on this concept!

A SPY NEVER REALLY RETIRES…
Long ago, Marcus Gray, the Marquess of Haversham, left the Home Office with a blackened reputation and a determination to never look back. He skirted the edges of London society, caring for little other than himself, until he crossed paths with Caroline Staveley. When Marc discovers the recently widowed Caroline has returned to London and her late husband’s actions have placed her in danger, he is quickly lured into the once familiar game of cat and mouse he thought he’d escaped.

…NOT WHEN THE LADY HE LOVES IS IN DANGER
Caroline, Viscountess Staveley, is struggling to raise her children and find her place in the world now that her steady and reliable husband is gone. The last thing she needs is another complication, and that is exactly what the notorious skirt-chasing Haversham is—a complicated, unapologetic rake that tempts her like no one ever has. As she starts to unravel his secrets, however, she begins to wonder who he really is and exactly how many secrets he’s keeping.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I never knew it was possible for a book to make you blush or make your eyes go wide until this one! I love a story with spies and this one is at the top of my list. There is a perfect mix of romance and suspense that goes perfectly together. There are a couple of twists that I didn’t see coming especially with the one lord that I never guessed at. I loved how they could be at each other’s throats, but that spark was still there waiting to burst. They are a couple that is totally comfortable with each other from the start and with the kids.

Caroline is a woman that knows her mind. She doesn’t fall at any man’s feet and knows what she wants to do. I loved her from the start because she didn’t hold anything back and was determined to find out everything. When she was worked up look out because she let you know how she felt.

Marc can charm anyone in many ways. He was not one to be embarrassed by anything or to lie. I loved him as soon as he found out she was in danger because it was very clear that he would protect her and her family no matter what. He can win you over with the way he is with kids.

Kids and pets are two of my favorite things and Ava has a way of including both perfectly. There is a scene with a bathtub that explains my first comment ;).

Banished from civilization to the Wyoming Territory, U.S. Marshal Harrison Taylor holds a deed to half the Lazy L. He isn’t sure why his beautiful new partner, Rachel Leonard, doesn’t trust him. He has to convince her he is nothing like the man who abused her and must earn her trust before the escalating attacks at the Lazy L turn deadly.
For six years, Rachel has worked to repair a shattered life. Caring for her son and invalid father leaves little time to keep the Lazy L profitable. She doesn’t want a business partner simply because her father gambled away half of her beloved ranch and most certainly doesn’t desire a husband. Unfortunately, she’s stuck with the former and can’t trust Harrison as the latter.
Unless she can learn to trust Harrison, everything and everyone Rachel loves will be lost.

My Review

* I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I could not stop thinking about this book after reading it! It is such a powerful story with raw emotion and attention to detail. There is so much going in this book to keep you glued to it with the suspense of the attacks and threats to the ranch, their story, and the past coming back to haunt them. I loved everything from the start when they met and how they fit with each other. At one point I thought someone else was behind everything but was wrong. Her father was one that I wasn’t really liking until the whole story was out about the mine then I cheered. When I got to the end I didn’t want it to be over.

Rachel was a very strong woman. She overcame a horrible thing and kept going for her son and the ranch no matter what people said about her. I loved how she had a journey of getting to the point of trusting again and realizing she was not to blame. She was a fighter.

Harrison was the most honorable man. He did not even begin to judge and made it his mission to help her trust again and protect her. I loved him from the start because he didn’t try to take over and was very understanding. He also took his job as marshal serious.

This book does something rare and handles the subject of sexual assault in a way no other book has and I applaud the author for that.

England – 1865…Colin Layton, Viscount Evanston, is the spy ‘Fox’ who must ferret out a double-agent working with the Prussians searching for a ledger, containing the names of British operatives, which has gone missing. Colin must also determine who is writing ‘love letters’ to him. Are the letters taunts suggesting that someone knows he is a spy or were they truly written by a secret admirer?

My Review

* I was gifted a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review.

AMAZING! The blurb does not do this book justice to how amazing the mystery is. I loved how everything intertwined so there is a good amount of romance and mystery. I had my suspicions about who was sending the letters but was not sure until it was revealed because of twists. The identity of Raven was a total surprise that I didn’t see coming and so was Peacock’s because I couldn’t even begin to figure it out. I love the matchmaking going on and the chemistry between them from the start. People that I guessed were involved were not and that makes for a great mystery. It does end on a cliffhanger but in a good way so that the mystery continues, but things are wrapped up in this one too.

Eliza is a woman that has no wish to marry again. I loved her from the start because she was open and honest when talking to anyone. She had a bit of a temper, but she was quick to realize when she was wrong. I loved what she did in the end to get his attention.

Colin has a reputation that is perfect for a spy. He is a charmer and even if he’s just being nice you still love him. I loved that he tried to protect everyone and that he wasn’t always the proper hide your emotions persons. He has a bit of a temper too, but it works for him.

This is going on my all-time favorites list and I highly recommend if you love a good mystery like I do.

Sophia Ruthven is the epitome of proper behavior. On paper at least, as long as that paper isn’t from one of the lady detective stories she secretly pens. She certainly isn’t interested in associating with the dashing Jasper Grey, the wayward heir to the Earl of Stanhope, and one of the stage’s leading men. But when she learns Grey’s younger sister Liddy has gone missing, she can’t deny her desire to solve the mystery…or her attraction to the incorrigible scoundrel.

Responsibility isn’t something Grey is very familiar with. On the boards and in the bedroom, he lives exactly how he wants to, shunning all the trappings of respectability and society. Grey knows he should avoid the bewitching Sophia, but he’s never been able to say no to what he wants. And having Sophia in his arms and his bed is quickly becoming the thing he wants the most.

As Sophia and Grey’s search for Liddy continues across the English countryside, can this scoundrel convince a proper lady that he’s actually perfect for her or will their adventure leave them both heartbroken?

My Review

*I was gifted a copy from the author.

I loved the first book in this series and loved this one! I was hooked from the start and the mystery of Liddy was weaved throughout perfectly so I couldn’t guess at anything. I loved the traveling and how something always was happening. When they went to his family you realize why he has ran from his title and you love him more. Her housekeeper was a favorite of mine especially in the end when they were getting ready. The scenes with the doctor were favorites. The ending is one of my favorite endings.

Sophia is very different in the ways she thinks and acts. I loved that she used her mind and seemed all about proper behavior, but she loved adventure and mystery. Her upbringing and some other things were why she was careful and knew how to handle people.

Grey will have your heart from the start. He was defiantly a scoundrel, but he didn’t hesitate to go after his sister and would do anything to protect her. I loved how he came off wild not caring person, but he really did care and his guilt from the past will break your heart.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

One of my favorite types of romance is gothic suspense and this one is now a favorite! It gave me chills and that’s what I want from a story like this. Every time something was revealed no matter how small it was shocking because I did not see it coming. The big secret and the reason for it are terrifying but explain so much. The romance isn’t completely front and center, but I don’t mind it with stories like this one. When I got to the end I wanted more.

Katherine is someone that when she sets her mind to do it then look out. I loved her from the start because she boldly showed up at the house and didn’t run at the sign of something was wrong. She could stand her ground and fight if needed.

Thomas is complicated and runs hot and cold but for good reasons. He guards his heart and those around him because of the past and it can break your heart. You have to get to know him throughout the book to love and understand him. When he lets his guard down he really does.

All kinds of thrills and fun with this one! I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. I loved the chemistry between them because sparks flew from across the room. I started to get worried at one point about what she would do, but I loved how what she did and how she handled everything. I did not see the twists coming about his cousins or expect what she and her sister did! I loved her family especially her brother and the ending was perfect.

Alice is one of my favorite heroines! She is bold, thinks of others first, and can take care of herself. I loved her from the start because of how she thought about things and handled stressful situations. When she told people what she wanted she was very clear on how things would be.

Callum only wants to take care of his daughter and protect her. He did what he had to and when things didn’t always go as planned he was ready to do what he needed to. I loved that he openly talked about his childhood and didn’t hide everything. He never ran from anything and I loved that.

Though the clan Bowie’s reputation as murderers and thieves precedes them, she believes life with Alec more palatable than living the rest of her life untouched, unmarried, and under the hateful rule of her spiteful father.

Will Alec be able to stick to his original plan of getting his wife with child then leaving her be?

Will Leona finally find the happy home she has always desired?

Will either of them live long enough to realize either of their dreams? Or will the person set on murdering Leona succeed?

My Review

*I was given a copy via the author in exchange for my honest review.

Amazing! This book has so much mystery and passion that I couldn’t put it down. There was an instant connection between Alec and Leona, but both had secrets and pasts that kept them from showing their true feelings.  I knew they would need to let go of everything and something big to happen for them both to put the walls down. The mystery of who was set on killing Leona was so good! I had a couple of suspicions of who it was and was so wrong. Who it was and the reason was so shocking that I dropped my phone in surprise while reading. The ending was perfect as was the whole book.

Leona is a shy, but strong woman. She is not one that you want to mess with because she can be loud and you take what she says seriously. I loved her from the start and how she was with everyone human or animal. My heart broke for when talked about her past and everything that happened during the book.

Alec wants to protect his heart, but he lost it before he knew it. I loved how he kept trying to convince himself of things and how he slowly changed. He came off as a huge tough guy that believed it was his way or no way, but he was different in many ways. My heart broke for him too near the end because of everything happening.

I loved so many characters even Derrick when the truth was told and Satan/Patches. This is must read that you can’t miss out on.

My Review

*I was provided a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review

This is much more than just a romance its about two people that have suffered heartbreak, loss and need to heal and find each other. Both have been on downward spirals at different times and needed to grow and find each other again. I loved everything because of the raw emotion and how they both had horrible witnessed things that made them grow and change. They needed each other because they understood each other.

Lettie is a strong woman that is stronger than she thinks after what she has seen and done. She saved soldiers lives and saw more death than anyone in London can understand so they push her to be like them again. I kept cheering her on hoping she would find peace soon.

Danial was on his way to ruin when he witnessed a horrible thing that turned him sober. He changed in many ways but still had hints of the man she knew. It was easy to understand why he had acted the way he did before she left, but no one realized why or understood.

This one is high on my favorite list and a must read.
