Ewan Mostyn thinks a job as a duke’s daughter’s bodyguard will be easy―but Lady Lorraine has a few tricks up her sleeve that spark an undeniable passion…

Fiercely loyal to his friends and comrades, Ewan Mostyn is the toughest in a group of younger sons of nobility who met as soldiers and are now trying desperately to settle back into peaceful Society. Ewan trusts his brawn more than his brains, but when he’s offered a job watching the Duke of Ridlington’s stubbornly independent daughter, he finds both are challenged.

Lady Lorraine wants none of her father’s high-handed ways, and she’ll do everything in her power to avoid her distressingly attractive bodyguard―until she lands herself in real trouble. Lorraine begins to see Ewan’s protectiveness in a new light, and she can only hope that her stoic guardian will do for her what he’s always done―fight for what he wants.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

An amazing start to a new series! I was hooked from the moment Ewan threw the man out and then once they met I knew it was going to exciting and different with them. I loved how they were together from the start with trying to outsmart each other. I did not expect the trouble she found herself in or how desperate the person was to do that. I actually held my breath when her father told him no because I had no clue what was going to happen. The ending was perfect, especially with his friends. I also loved the story with her parents wondering what happened to them before.

Lorraine is extremely independent and when she sets her mind to something look out. Her way of thinking and doing what she wanted was going to cause some big trouble and scandal. I loved that she was free speaking and determined in helping him. I loved that she wasn’t so stubborn as to completely ignore what she was being told.

Ewan is one of those hero’s that has your heart right away. His past will break your heart and his sense of honor will make you love him. I loved that he took his job so seriously and how he could figure out what she was up to at every turn. When he went back to get her dog it said everything about their love.

I can’t wait for the next book!

A LADY OF LIGHT

Refined, kind, and intelligent, Lady Iris Jordan finds herself the unlikely target of a diabolical kidnapping. Her captors are the notoriously evil Lords of Chaos. When one of the masked-and nude!-Lords spirits her away to his carriage, she shoots him . . . only to find she may have been a trifle hasty.

A DUKE IN DEEPEST DARKNESS

Cynical, scarred, and brooding, Raphael de Chartres, the Duke of Dyemore, has made it his personal mission to infiltrate the Lords of Chaos and destroy them. Rescuing Lady Jordan was never in his plans. But now with the Lords out to kill them both, he has but one choice: marry the lady in order to keep her safe.

CAUGHT IN A WEB OF DANGER . . . AND DESIRE

Much to Raphael’s irritation, Iris insists on being the sort of duchess who involves herself in his life-and bed. Soon he’s drawn both to her quick wit and her fiery passion. But when Iris discovers that Raphael’s past may be even more dangerous than the present, she falters. Is their love strong enough to withstand not only the Lords of Chaos but also Raphael’s own demons?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley

The shocking opening will make sure you don’t put it down. It’s shocking and thrilling at the same time throughout the book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time afraid of what would happen next and hoping she could help him get rid of his demons. I loved how the passion between them kept building until it exploded. The mystery of the leader of the Lords of Chaos kept me guessing if who I thought it was was right or not. The ending was another shocker and I loved it.

Iris is not as innocent as she seems and wants passion. I loved her right away because she wasn’t going to wilt away and was going to fight if she had to. She was very caring and understanding even willing to give up what she wanted most for him. Her compassion and strength was amazing.

Raphael is on a suicide mission to kill his demons. His personal demons are some of the most horrible and fuel him to take down the Lord of Chaos. I loved him because he would protect her to no end. He needed her more than he knew to fight his demons and find happiness and passion in his life.

There are many things that will shock you in the book so be prepared.

My Review

This is going on my All Time Favorites list! You will go through so many emotions while reading this one from happy to anger to sadness and back to happy. I loved the twist with how he found out the truth and the connection they had right away. I really wanted something to happen to her parents because they are beyond horrible. They shocked me every time they were around. The ending was amazing and perfect! I was so excited to see how things turned out for them.

Dora is broken body and soul. I felt so connected to her because she was different. I hated seeing her torn down and she needed someone to pull from the dark. I almost screamed when she stood up to her parents and then was afraid of what would happen next.

Allon was pulled from his darkness and now he will return the favor. I loved him right away because he’s smart, a bit sneaky, and what dreams are made of. I was not expecting what he said to her parents at all. When he went in the house I cheered.

Jean-Luc La Fontaine is tired of sowing his wild oats. So, after a disastrous summer in France, he’s back in Dry Bayou, ordering himself a mail-order bride. A new wife will help him forget about the siren with sapphire eyes…

Intelligence, wealth, prestige… It means nothing when you fall in love with the wrong man. So, when scandal chases Isabeau Montefret from France, she runs to America, determined to forget the man with the wicked smile.

Isabeau hoped becoming a mail-order bride was the answer to her problems. She’d change her name, start a new life, and lose herself in a small town. When she discovers that the man who disappeared with her heart is the man she agreed to marry, Isabeau settles in for the fight of her life.

When the one woman he’d left France to forget arrives in town, claiming she’s his new bride, Jean-Luc doesn’t know what to feel. But when pain gives way to the truth, he must risk keeping a dark secret, one that would steal every chance at happiness. Isabeau once made him believe in happily ever after, now he must learn how to keep his new bride at a distance, lest he lose everything.

Can Jean-Luc be a true husband to the woman he’s been deceiving? Can Isabeau convince Jean-Luc she’s his one true love? Will these two rediscover what they had once upon a summertime?

My Review

The perfect amount of sweetness. Many sweet westerns loose their ruggedness or the sense of being a western, but this one doesn’t and I loved that! There is a lot of emotions in this one too that will pull at your heart and you will connect with them throughout the story. I loved that they weren’t your typical western couple and that they were brought back together. There was a twist with her family that I didn’t see coming. I didn’t want it to end but loved the ending because everything came out.

Isabeau was ruined by a scandal but wasn’t going to fall into a black hole and disappear. I loved that she actually could take care of herself with the upbringing she had and that she wouldn’t back down. She spoke her mind at all times and I loved that about her.

Jean-Luc was heartbroken without realizing it. My heart ached for him in the garden and how he changed after that. He was a hardened man after that and I loved how he slowly softened again. He will pull at your heart like crazy.

Don’t mess with a group of women that have a plan!

Dublin, Ireland, 1880. Tired of treating rich hypochondriacs, Dr Will Fitzgerald left his father’s medical practice and his home on Merrion Square to live and practice medicine in the Liberties. His parents were appalled and his fiancée broke off their engagement. But when Will spends a night in a brothel on the eve of his best friend’s wedding, little does he know that the scarred and disgraced young woman he meets there will alter the course of his life.

Isobel Stevens was schooled to be a lady, but a seduction put an end to all her father’s hopes for her. Disowned, she left Co Galway for Dublin and fell into prostitution. On the advice of a handsome young doctor, she leaves the brothel and enters domestic service. But can Isobel escape her past and adapt to life and the chance of love on Merrion Square? Or will she always be seen as a scarlet woman?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is a very different book in many ways and I loved it! There are many things covered in the book that you normally don’t see or if they are mentioned they don’t play a major part in the story. I never knew what was going happen next because something was always getting in the way for them, but also bringing them closer together. Many shocking scandals, secrets, and happy endings throughout the book that keep you hooked. Their love story intertwines perfectly with everything else. Their love could withstand anything. The ending was perfect and unexpected.

Isobel is a very strong woman to have held her head high and came through everything that happened to her. I admire her doing what she had to in every situation no matter how shocking it was and that she kept her head high. She didn’t let her father’s words fully pull her down, but did need the right person to show her that she was worthy.

WIll did not look down on anyone and wanted to help those less fortunate no matter what. I loved the way he tended to always be thinking like a doctor and how he could talk to people so easily no matter what. He needed Isobel and much as she needed him at the time they met.

This book does touch on many subjects that might shock some readers such as abortion, some characters sexuality, strong language, and things that could be considered erotic.

England – 1865…Caitlyn Cody Carrington has come from America to England on a quest to exonerate her great-uncle accused of treason. But his supposed act of treason is but a ploy to ferret out an elusive double-agent. She is asked to play the role of angry, vengeful great-niece in the hopes of attracting the double-agent who will wish to use her disgruntlement to his advantage. Serving as a spy for the Crown, she must report to the mysterious spymaster, Raven, and partner with the charismatic Jonas Jacobs, Earl of Huntingdon. Both men intrigue, confuse and enthrall her…until she discovers why they both captivate her so.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

More twists and thrills! You will be sucked in with their instant connection and finding out who the double agent is. I could not predict how anything happened from the widow’s reaction to the way everything ended. I giggled at her great uncle’s match making and cried in the end. Any time I thought I had figured out who the double agent was another twist would happen to throw me off track. I had no clue at when it was revealed who it was and almost dropped my Kindle. They were meant to be together even though they didn’t fully get along at times.

Cody is a very impressive woman. She could read people, handle a gun, and notice things that others didn’t. I loved how she could create a scene when needed and that she was quick to pick up on the hint about Raven. I cheered for her in the end when she showed how well she could take care of herself and be a spy.

Jonas is one you instantly like even with his reputation. I’ve loved him since the first book and how the mystery still surrounds him. He wasn’t one to hide from his feelings most of the time and he listened to the advice he was given. I loved how open he was about things and acted in the end.

Thousands of readers have already fallen in love with the Briarleys — a family known for centuries of sin and scandal, now on the verge of extinction. In LORD OF DECEIT, Octavia Briarley continues the family tradition of revenge while fighting to reclaim her birthright — but in the Heiress Games, love doesn’t always follow the rules…

Rule #1: Never give your heart to a rake…

Octavia Briarley took society by storm during her debut season — until one disastrous night changed everything, and she was forced to become London’s most notorious courtesan. She’s already paid the price for trusting too easily, and she won’t make the same mistake again. But when she finally gets a chance to take revenge against the cousin who betrayed her, Octavia needs a willing partner for her schemes — someone charming, aristocratic, and devilish. The kind of man she might have married, in a different life. And the kind of man she absolutely can’t risk giving her heart to….

Rule #2: Never fall in love with the target…

Lord Rafael Emmerson-Fairhurst survived as a spy in Spain through charm and subterfuge. In London, he uses those same skills to pursue justice against those who are above the law. His next mission is Lord Somerville — Octavia’s former patron. When Octavia asks Rafe to help sabotage her cousin’s house party, he can’t refuse. If he can destroy Somerville by using her…well, Rafe never claimed to be a saint, and he never promised to protect her. But he never expected Octavia to be quite so delightful — or quite so inexperienced, given her bold demands and reckless smile. And falling in love is a mistake he’s never made before….

Rule #3: Never ignore your destiny…

As Rafe and Octavia set out to ruin the most illustrious house party of the summer, they discover that revenge can’t possibly compete with the pleasure they find in each other’s arms. Can an innocent courtesan and a broken charmer risk losing everything they ever wanted to seize the love they never expected to find?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Revenge is the name of the game for this family. I couldn’t put this one down and read the whole thing in one sitting. One little mistake set off a turn of events that changed everyone’s life and changed them too. I loved when they met at the party and how they seemed to understand each other even though they both had their secrets. I loved that they were working together to ruin the party. The ending is one of those that I always love to read.

Octavia is a woman that did what she had to when she was ruined. I loved how she always kept her head high and her whole personality. I did not see the full reason for her and Somerville’s arrangement coming at first, but it worked perfectly for her. She was a butterfly.

Rafe is nothing like he seems to the people around him. In the first book, I knew there was something about him, but never expected that he had been a spy or how he really was. I loved his personality because he didn’t react to things the way you would expect and was very kind.

There are many characters that get your interest in these books.

In the Rogues to Riches historical romance series, sigh-worthy Regency rogues sweep strong-willed young ladies into whirlwind romance with rollicking adventure.

Unlike proper debutantes, Miss Dahlia Grenville is secretly Robin Hood in a bonnet. Her home for wayward girls has too many dependents and not enough donations. But just as she’s about to pull off the heist of the Season, she tumbles straight into the arms of the handsome detective who has sworn to deliver Mayfair’s mysterious thief straight to the gallows.

Highly principled Bow Street runner Simon Spaulding’s world is black and white. There’s no mastermind too clever, no criminal alive who can escape the hangman. Until he realizes the delightful young lady he’s been courting is a liar and a thief. Suddenly, his career—and his heart—are in peril. How can he bring her to justice when it means losing her forever?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley

Sparks fly from the start with this one. How can you not love a female Robin Hood and a man who sees everyone as the same? Their first meeting is not one you expect and I loved how they didn’t deny or fight their attractions to each other. They were opposites in many ways but were perfect for each other. When she was found out I had no clue how he would react or what was going to happen but the way it worked out was perfect. His proposal is what dreams are made of and one of my favorites. The ending was amazing too.

Dahlia is one of my favorite heroines. She doesn’t hold back anything but has a bit of a mystery about her. I loved her right away because she was not afraid to protect a young girl and would do anything to help those girls. I could really connect with her.

Simon has set out to be the best he can. I love that he didn’t look down on the people in St. Giles and treated them the same in every way. His past can break your heart, but as the story unfolds and he learns more it changes in many ways.

I can’t wait for the next one to see what happens.

Excerpt

Simon did not pay calls upon ladies. Or anyone at all. He had no time for idle fraternization. Yet here he was on the threshold of the St. Giles School for Girls, adjusting his cravat.
The door swung open.
Just as the night before, no butler or housekeeper attended callers, but rather the headmistress herself.
He bowed. “Good afternoon, Miss Grenville. I trust the rest of your evening passed much more peacefully?”
“I’ll send for the others at once,” she said without curtseying. Her eyes twinkled. “I thank you for both your service and your punctuality. She has been looking forward to your visit all day.”
Before he could so much as blink, Miss Grenville motioned to a young girl in a frayed pinafore, who immediately raced up a somewhat lopsided staircase and disappeared into the next floor.
Miss Grenville turned back to him with a brisk nod. “There. She will be down any moment. We won’t keep you long.”
“She needn’t rush,” he found himself saying. “I’ve nothing but casework awaiting me.”
Miss Grenville gave him a long, considering look.
Simon straightened. He had the distinct impression this young lady was taking his measure in the same careful, detailed way he had taught the other men on the force.
Something like: Hat, medium quality. Not rich, not poor. Hair, a bit too long—too much time between visits to the barber. Jaw, clean-shaven. Suit, waistcoat, cravat, well-tailored and pristine. He was an inspector, not a beadle or a street watchman. And he had returned, just as he’d promised.
“Forgive me.” Miss Grenville dropped a curtsey elegant enough to rival a duchess. “We have just finished lessons, and I’m afraid my mind was with administrative responsibilities, and not on my manners.”
Simon could scarcely fault her for a trait his colleagues would claim he himself had perfected, so he merely tipped his hat. “There is nothing to forgive. A strong focus on one’s duty is a worthy quality indeed.”
“Is it? ’Twould be better if I could do less focusing, more achieving, but, well… Someday, things will turn around. I would invite you to tea, but we don’t often take it.” She pushed the door open wider. “But you can still come in. As long as you aren’t expecting crumpets.”
“I despise crumpets,” he assured her. “Ghastly things. Make me sneeze worse than cats.”
“Well, if you ever find yourself with a surplus, I am certain my girls will be happy to dispose of them for you.”
“Duly noted,” he promised, and stepped across the threshold…R2R-03-LON_Series.png

A SPY NEVER REALLY RETIRES…
Long ago, Marcus Gray, the Marquess of Haversham, left the Home Office with a blackened reputation and a determination to never look back. He skirted the edges of London society, caring for little other than himself, until he crossed paths with Caroline Staveley. When Marc discovers the recently widowed Caroline has returned to London and her late husband’s actions have placed her in danger, he is quickly lured into the once familiar game of cat and mouse he thought he’d escaped.

…NOT WHEN THE LADY HE LOVES IS IN DANGER
Caroline, Viscountess Staveley, is struggling to raise her children and find her place in the world now that her steady and reliable husband is gone. The last thing she needs is another complication, and that is exactly what the notorious skirt-chasing Haversham is—a complicated, unapologetic rake that tempts her like no one ever has. As she starts to unravel his secrets, however, she begins to wonder who he really is and exactly how many secrets he’s keeping.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I never knew it was possible for a book to make you blush or make your eyes go wide until this one! I love a story with spies and this one is at the top of my list. There is a perfect mix of romance and suspense that goes perfectly together. There are a couple of twists that I didn’t see coming especially with the one lord that I never guessed at. I loved how they could be at each other’s throats, but that spark was still there waiting to burst. They are a couple that is totally comfortable with each other from the start and with the kids.

Caroline is a woman that knows her mind. She doesn’t fall at any man’s feet and knows what she wants to do. I loved her from the start because she didn’t hold anything back and was determined to find out everything. When she was worked up look out because she let you know how she felt.

Marc can charm anyone in many ways. He was not one to be embarrassed by anything or to lie. I loved him as soon as he found out she was in danger because it was very clear that he would protect her and her family no matter what. He can win you over with the way he is with kids.

Kids and pets are two of my favorite things and Ava has a way of including both perfectly. There is a scene with a bathtub that explains my first comment ;).

AN OUTRAGEOUS PROPOSITION
Elizabeth Spencer needs a man. Preferably one who won’t be too picky about the morality of her proposition, or his reputation. Lord Constantine Alexander can’t afford another trip to debtors’ prison, which makes him the perfect candidate. She doesn’t expect him to have a heart of gold, or to hold up his end of the bargain—particularly when his high-in-the-instep family gets involved. Nor does she expect to find him irresistible, because while she needs a man, she doesn’t particularly want one.

A WICKED BARGAIN
When a beautiful courtesan offers to satisfy his creditors, Con leaps at the opportunity. Never mind his mother and brothers are suspicious of his newfound fortune—being with Elizabeth is intoxicating enough to wipe any thought of scruples away. He soon realizes it’s not just his future he’s been gambling, but his future family. How can he convince London’s premier courtesan he’s more than a callow rake?

My Review

*I was provided a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I loved that this one picks up from the first book. The whole time I was wondering when someone was going to pop up and ruin their plans. I loved that they both didn’t want to marry, but kept being thrown together by everything and everyone. I did not expect her family to be the way they were or his family to be the opposite in ways. I got teary eyed in the end because of how everything happened and worked out.

Elizabeth has changed so much since becoming a mother and will do anything to keep her baby with her. I love how she doesn’t know what to do when Con doesn’t want money for helping more. She learned to open her heart again.

Con does whatever he can to help his family especially his one brother. He kind of grows up throughout the story and learns that he can’t fix everything and to love. I loved him because he would help anyone in need.

This one shows how hard it could be for women with children because the law wasn’t on their side.
