England – 1865…Caitlyn Cody Carrington has come from America to England on a quest to exonerate her great-uncle accused of treason. But his supposed act of treason is but a ploy to ferret out an elusive double-agent. She is asked to play the role of angry, vengeful great-niece in the hopes of attracting the double-agent who will wish to use her disgruntlement to his advantage. Serving as a spy for the Crown, she must report to the mysterious spymaster, Raven, and partner with the charismatic Jonas Jacobs, Earl of Huntingdon. Both men intrigue, confuse and enthrall her…until she discovers why they both captivate her so.

More twists and thrills! You will be sucked in with their instant connection and finding out who the double agent is. I could not predict how anything happened from the widow’s reaction to the way everything ended. I giggled at her great uncle’s match making and cried in the end. Any time I thought I had figured out who the double agent was another twist would happen to throw me off track. I had no clue at when it was revealed who it was and almost dropped my Kindle. They were meant to be together even though they didn’t fully get along at times.

Cody is a very impressive woman. She could read people, handle a gun, and notice things that others didn’t. I loved how she could create a scene when needed and that she was quick to pick up on the hint about Raven. I cheered for her in the end when she showed how well she could take care of herself and be a spy.

Jonas is one you instantly like even with his reputation. I’ve loved him since the first book and how the mystery still surrounds him. He wasn’t one to hide from his feelings most of the time and he listened to the advice he was given. I loved how open he was about things and acted in the end.

He’s a roughhewn bastard. She’s a rebellious noblewoman. Their passion bridges the class divide in a scintillating novel of forbidden desire and raw sensuality from the USA Today bestselling author of To Lure a Proper Lady.

Lady Caroline Wilde is expected to ride sidesaddle, but she’s not about to embrace convention. She’s also expected to keep a chaste distance from men like Adrian Crosby, the new estate agent, yet she cannot cease her ogling—which is especially irksome considering their ongoing feud. Adrian insists that the fields must be planted; Caro needs those same fields to train her horses. But whenever she tries to put him in his place, Caro looks into his steely gaze and her words simply … disappear.

A bastard son who grew up on the Wyvern estate, Adrian was lucky enough to receive an education at the behest of the late marchioness. Now that he has set out on his own, Adrian knows better than to fall for Lady Caroline, the Duke of Sherrington’s daughter. Caroline is at once a thorn in his side and an exquisite temptation, especially when she’s playing the feisty daredevil. Adrian would give anything for a chance to tame her—and with Caro in the saddle, he just might get his wish.

Oh do they clash from the start and fight but they also are instantly attracted to each other which adds to the fire. There are shocking twists and some mystery in this book.I loved how much some things surrounded horses and her horse especially. I was not expecting any of the twists when it came to Adrian or the girl that was hired to help. The ending was perfect and left me wanting more.

Caro is defiantly a headstrong woman that knows what she wants and will get it one way or another. She is a lady but doesn’t act like one when it comes to horses or hunts. There were a couple of times where she was so focused on getting what she wanted that she made bad decisions but she bounced back.

Adrian was great at his job and knew his place, but Caro pushed him. I had no idea why he left his last job until it was revealed and was shocked. I loved him from the start and understood why he made the decisions he did. At times he didn’t fully understand Caro, but he never seemed to hold it against her.

I can’t wait for the next one and find out what happens next.

Book Boyfriends And Why We Love Them

Book boyfriends, we all have at least one (or five or ten) even if say we don’t. Yes, we love pretty much every hero in the book we read, but these are those heroes that stand out the most to us and hold a special place in our book loving hearts. They can all be one type of guy or a wide range because everyone is different. That first one will probably be one that you weren’t expecting. I know mine wasn’t because he was totally different than what I thought I would pick. I have Darcy Burke’s Scoundrel Ever After to thank for my first book boyfriend because of Ethan Jaggar a villain turned hero that stole my heart from the start.

So why do we love them? Everyone has different reasons, but usually, they have something that grabs us let it be they remind us of our real spouses or partners or they are just different and a fantasy that we love in a dream world. Many love bad boys turned good with a hint of bad, some love damaged heroes that need love, some love heroes that are very smart, and some like me have a mix of ones we love. For us that are single, they can be someone that we use as a model when looking for that real life hero. We also love to talk about our book boyfriends with other readers and sometimes we share them without realizing it at virtual parties. Lol.

Some Well know book boyfriends are Jamie Fraser from Outlander, Ross Poldark from Poldark, and Athos, Aramis, Porthos, and D’Artagnan The Musketeers. They have grown in popularity thanks to TV because we get to see them in action and because of the actors that play that bring them to life. They also are not the perfect do everything right type and at times do things that are not the smartest or a good idea and drive us crazy, but that’s why we love them.

Don’t worry if you haven’t found you first book boyfriend yet because that book is out there just waiting to be read.
