Two favorite, related novellas from the Half Moon House series, now available together!

An Unexpected Encounter

Tall, practical girls might not be worth much in man’s world, but Miss Lisbeth Moreton knows she’s worth more than the squire’s prized heifer.

To change her fate, she’s run off to a date with destiny at the British Museum. Her would-be swain never shows, but an unexpected encounter with Lord Cotwell and his lonely ward might lead to altogether new prospects . . . and perhaps to love.

A Waltz in the Park

James Vickers once believed honor and family duty to be his life’s work. Now he knows better–and he’s appointed himself as silent witness to his father’s sins. His greatest goal is to act as the continuously pricking thorn in his lordship’s side–and scandal is his greatest weapon. He has no use for an innocent young miss.

Propriety is Miss Adelaide Stockton’s most important asset. She must be all that is prim and proper if she’s to live down her parent’s misdeeds and have any hope of catching a husband. She must avoid scoundrels like Vickers at all costs.

Yet fate has thrown them together–and given each a key to the other’s ambition. A bargain is struck…but together they find that gaining what one desires most is far more difficult than a waltz in the park.

I love that there are available together because they really do connect and I think need to be read together so you get a full understanding of some things. I loved both and how they go with the whole series.

An Unexpected Encounter

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

Spice Level: 💋💋💋

I was in love with this one from the start! When Hestia gets involved I’m never sure how things are going to happen, but know it will have some twists and a great ending. I loved how Aurelia was so quick to make up a story at first and everything that involved her. I wasn’t expecting the small twist with Lisbeth’s trustee or everything with James Vickers. One of my favorite parts involved little girls following on Lord Cotwell’s his heels.

Lisbeth is a very brave and strong woman that didn’t fully panic when her plans fell through. She had a very good reason to run from her family and a way of understanding people. I loved how she was with Aurelia and when she took over the household.

Lord Cotwell is a very smart man and honorable. He is my favorite kind of hero because he of things he does in his lab and that he didn’t blink an eye at taking Aurelia and would do anything for her. I loved how quick he was to defend people he cared about and how he came out of his shell.

A Waltz in the Park

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

Spice Level: 💋💋

I love that this one continues with James. This one has a mystery that involves people in their lives that you will not realize what it is until you get to the end. They started out just helping each other for different reasons and then slowly put down the walls. Hestia, of course, was involved in it and I loved the story about Adelaide’s parents and the scandal. The ending is my favorite out of all the books I have read.

Adelaide is definitely a girl with a plan. Everyone thinks her the prim and proper girl, but she has a sassy side and loves adventure. I loved her right away because she didn’t skirt around questions and knew how to read people. She was smart and at times forward in a good way.

James has changed a lot, but still makes it his mission to drive his father crazy. I knew there was a reason for why he did this stuff, but in no way expecting the reason. His reason made complete sense and showed the real him. I loved how he could see people for what they were and how he was with his mother.

A widow scarred by love and loss…

After years spent following her husband as he fought against Napoleon’s troops, Lady Lettie Hughes returns to London a widow to take her rightful place among the ton as the daughter of an earl. Her parents and friends expect her to enter the marriage market and secure the match she should have pursued in her debut Season. But Lettie is not the same innocent girl she was before Waterloo. Nightmares of the battlefield plague her, and she doesn’t see a place for herself in society anymore.

A lord determined to save the woman he loves…

Daniel Greaves, the Duke of Linwood, is a man who knows rejection and loss. He’s lived the last six years alone after the woman he was betrothed to cast him aside for another man. Instead of taking control of his title and lands, Daniel fell into a life a debauchery—gaming, women, and spirits. But now the woman who stole his future and left him hollow is back in London.

When Lettie and Daniel are reunited, their connection burns as bright as it once did. But neither of them are the same people they were in their youth—they must trust one another to heal the wounds of their past to find a love that lasts forever.

My Review

*I was provided a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review

This is much more than just a romance its about two people that have suffered heartbreak, loss and need to heal and find each other. Both have been on downward spirals at different times and needed to grow and find each other again. I loved everything because of the raw emotion and how they both had horrible witnessed things that made them grow and change. They needed each other because they understood each other.

Lettie is a strong woman that is stronger than she thinks after what she has seen and done. She saved soldiers lives and saw more death than anyone in London can understand so they push her to be like them again. I kept cheering her on hoping she would find peace soon.

Danial was on his way to ruin when he witnessed a horrible thing that turned him sober. He changed in many ways but still had hints of the man she knew. It was easy to understand why he had acted the way he did before she left, but no one realized why or understood.

This one is high on my favorite list and a must read.

Two people overwhelmed by life… Will they find love and create a family where there was none, or will life conspire to keep them apart?

My Review

I loved that this one was set in Tennessee. They were definitely two people that needed each other even though they said they didn’t. From the start, they are both drawn to each other but try to forget about it. I was not expecting the twist with her boss but loved how Sebastian took care of things. I loved his mother and boy was his daughter a handful but when she came around it was not like I expected.

Lucie was determined to take care of her brother no matter what. I loved her spirit and that she was honest about everything. She is someone that everyone instantly loves and wants to help. I loved how she was with her brother and Stella.

Sebastian swore he would never marry again, but he doesn’t know what to do with his daughter. He came off as tough, but he really was the nicest guy and would help anyone. I loved how he was with his mother and the sheriff. When he was protecting someone look out.

Originally written under the pseudonym Deborah Martin, this unforgettable tale of mystery, treasure, and passion is back in print at last and newly revised for today’s audience!

Welsh widow Catrin Price is haunted by a family death curse. Any man whom she marries without first drinking from an ancient Druid chalice sold by her ancestor long ago is unquestionably doomed. But when she hunts it down to purchase it, the chalice’s former owner ends up dead. Who will believe her innocent with the man’s treasure in her hands? Now she lives in fear of discovery, afraid to trust, afraid to give away her heart…

Even Newcome, a scholar struggling to overcome a difficult past, travels to Wales to find the mysterious woman last seen with his murdered friend. So when the lady proves to be a beautiful yet shy creature who shares his love of Welsh mythology, he’s torn between believing her guilty and trusting the passion blazing between them. But as unscrupulous men seek the chalice for their own devious purposes, will Catrin and Evan let their wall of mistrust stand between them? Or will they defeat their enemies together and embrace the love intended for them since time immemorial?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley

This story will make you want to read up on Wales and Welsh mythology. The opening was perfect and hooked me from the start with the tale of the chalice. I loved the mystery and had absolutely no clue who the murderer was or why and was taken by surprise when it was revealed. Catrin and Evan are perfect for each other and definitely have instant chemistry. I loved their first meeting and how they are kind of opposites in many things. The ending was AMAZING! So much happened that made non-believers into believers.

Catrin is so shy but so strong too. She has had so much happen to her that it’s easy to understand why she believes in the curse and doesn’t trust strangers. I loved her personality and her name. When she needs to take action and protect someone she loves she is powerful. I loved her with the gun.

Evan is not shy at all and is very smart. His past is heartbreaking and has convinced him to never marry, but he is not his past. I loved how he didn’t hide what he felt and the way he went about getting her to listen. He did have a bit of an inner battle and didn’t see what others saw in him which affected him in many ways.

I wanted to dislike Catrin’s father in law, but he proved himself to be a good man in the end. I was so excited to see Juliana and Rhys and how they played into the story.

Without a Season, Lady Isolde Worthingham captured the Duke of Moore’s heart at a country dance. But on the eve of her wedding, a scandal that rocked the ton and sent her fleeing to Scotland alone and unwed, leaves her perfectly planned future in a tangle of disgrace and heartbreak.

Merrick Mountshaw, the Duke of Moore, loathes the pitiful existence he portrays to the ton. With a scandalous wife he never wanted, who flaunts her many indiscretions, life is a never-ending parade of hell. When the one woman he loved and lost returns to London, he knows he can no longer live without her.

But vows and past hurts are not easily forgotten. Love may not win against the ton when a too proper lord and lady play by the rules.

My Review

*I Received a copy via NetGalley

One word WOW! I felt like I was in the book. I was not expecting the type of scandal that happened and was already wanting to yell this can’t be happening. There are a few twists that can be shocking and times that I was celebrating and times I wanted to cry which is why this is going on my all-time favorite list. I highlighted so many things that I loved in this book from funny things to shocking confessions.

Isolde’s heart was shattered the night before her wedding, but she didn’t let it break her completely. I felt for her every time she tried to move on and convince herself that the rumors she heard were not true. I loved her from the start and how she followed her heart instead of listening to others.

Merrick can break your heart because he carries a guilt and shame for everything. His wife wasn’t just scandalous she seemed evil and loved to torment him and everyone. I think somewhere deep down he did somewhat care for her because he blamed himself. I loved him right away but even more when he saw Lily.

This is defiantly a must read and I hope to see her family more and find out what happened to his friend.

Disinherited by his parents and estranged from his wife, Fallen pleasure club co-owner Lord Grayson ‘Devil’ Deveraux long ago learned to place his trust in ledgers rather than people. But his ice-cold reserve hides the scandalous truth: he’s a man who craves pain with his pleasure, and a loving lady to instruct him.

Banished to the country when her whirlwind marriage collapsed, Lady Eliza Deveraux never knew why Grayson fell out of love with her: she’d tried so damned hard to quell her fiery self and be a proper, obedient wife. But when Eliza is forced to return to London and back into Grayson’s intoxicating world, banked passions reignite. Can a marriage built on secrets and pretense truly get a second chance?

My Review

*Received a copy via NetGalley

This is definitely not my usual style of book. I enjoyed the story between them and just wasn’t into the language being used and some of what went on in Fallen. It was different seeing other things besides what most romances have and I really like the characters. I did love the ending with her mother a lot and his brother.

Eliza is definitely bold and likes to be in charge, but her mother has drilled it into to be the opposite. When she finally realized that she needed to be her and not what her mother wanted it was great!

Grayson’s life is a bit shocking, but he is very likable and very nice even in business unless you did something wrong. He had his friends that he was open with, but he didn’t explain everything to his wife at first.

His friends sounded very interesting and fun. If you don’t mind the language and whips, feathers, and other detailed things then this is probably a good book for you.

He’s a roughhewn bastard. She’s a rebellious noblewoman. Their passion bridges the class divide in a scintillating novel of forbidden desire and raw sensuality from the USA Today bestselling author of To Lure a Proper Lady.

Lady Caroline Wilde is expected to ride sidesaddle, but she’s not about to embrace convention. She’s also expected to keep a chaste distance from men like Adrian Crosby, the new estate agent, yet she cannot cease her ogling—which is especially irksome considering their ongoing feud. Adrian insists that the fields must be planted; Caro needs those same fields to train her horses. But whenever she tries to put him in his place, Caro looks into his steely gaze and her words simply … disappear.

A bastard son who grew up on the Wyvern estate, Adrian was lucky enough to receive an education at the behest of the late marchioness. Now that he has set out on his own, Adrian knows better than to fall for Lady Caroline, the Duke of Sherrington’s daughter. Caroline is at once a thorn in his side and an exquisite temptation, especially when she’s playing the feisty daredevil. Adrian would give anything for a chance to tame her—and with Caro in the saddle, he just might get his wish.

My Review

*I received a copy via NetGalley

Oh do they clash from the start and fight but they also are instantly attracted to each other which adds to the fire. There are shocking twists and some mystery in this book.I loved how much some things surrounded horses and her horse especially. I was not expecting any of the twists when it came to Adrian or the girl that was hired to help. The ending was perfect and left me wanting more.

Caro is defiantly a headstrong woman that knows what she wants and will get it one way or another. She is a lady but doesn’t act like one when it comes to horses or hunts. There were a couple of times where she was so focused on getting what she wanted that she made bad decisions but she bounced back.

Adrian was great at his job and knew his place, but Caro pushed him. I had no idea why he left his last job until it was revealed and was shocked. I loved him from the start and understood why he made the decisions he did. At times he didn’t fully understand Caro, but he never seemed to hold it against her.

I can’t wait for the next one and find out what happens next.

All it takes is one passionate embrace, a kiss from the depths of his soul and a night of wild abandon.

My Review

*I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a short and steamy romance. I loved that it started with the duel and had just enough backstory to explain things. The bargain is very shocking for everyone that knows about it, but it plays out nicely.  I did love how they were instantly connected and I loved the ending.

Helen is great and brave. She wasn’t just looking out for her brother when she decided to take his place but was looking out for herself too. She never backed down and keep quiet when scared or mad. I loved how she stormed out near the end and how she kept her brother from the duel.

Gareth is a broken man that needs love again. At first, he came off as mean and a bit cruel, but as soon as he was back at his home he changed. He had changed after his wife died but wasn’t as he seemed and his housekeeper knew it and could tell what would happen. I loved how quickly he opened up and when he told her brother what he thought.

It was short, but the pace was good.

Wenna Chenoweth’s future is secure, until dashing Devon Courtney’s illicit flirtation gets her dismissed from her job as a lady’s maid. With nowhere to turn, Wenna is forced to accept Devon’s bold proposal: To be his bride. To enter society on the handsome aristocrat’s arm. To give him the heir he requires. It’s a foolproof plan. Except Wenna finds herself falling hard for a man who can never love her for who she is….

Wenna is passionate, mysterious, and ill-suited to the idle life of a society wife. She’s also exactly the kind of woman who could endanger Devon’s hopes to build his own future far from his family’s influence. For the spirited beauty has embarked on an unthinkable plan of her own—one that could lead him to surrender his resolve, and sacrifice everything he believes he holds dear….

Yet amid the wondrous landscape of colonial South Australia, anything is possible. Perhaps even love between two people the boundaries of society would keep apart….

My Review

*I received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first time reading a book set in Australia and it was a nice change. I loved their meeting and how opposite they were of each other. The back and forth between them was good entertainment and at times I didn’t know what would happen next with them because they weren’t always on the same page. the ending wasn’t what I expected with his letter from home. I wish there had been a bit more back story for both of them.

Wenna is passionate about her work and fears she won’t fit in the society wives. I loved how she spoke her mind and stood up for herself even when sometimes it would be better to keep quiet. She didn’t catch on to any hints of Devon’s life, but she fell for him. I think more back story about her would have helped with understanding her feeling towards things a bit more.

Devon is a natural born flirt and charming. I liked him from the start when he didn’t toss her aside after causing her to lose her job. His secrets did get him in trouble from time to time, but overall he was a good man. He had a rough relationship with his father that made him rebel some, but his plans were great and he did not show off at all.

His friends sounded interesting and I wanted to know more about them. I wanted to know if Patrica ever was happy after everything. I will be reading more of this series.

Friendship…

Lady Theodora Montgomery departed Miss Emmeline’s School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality to attend her first London Season—her three dearest friends by her side. With her sharp wit and skill on the archery field, Theo is far more interested in winning a large purse prize than securing a husband. But when she is unmasked on the tourney grounds, her face exposed to all, she fears her identity and days spent gallivanting around London will cause not only her undoing, but the downfall of her friends as well.

Loyalty…

Mr. Alistair Price, heir to the elderly Viscount Melton, arrived in London with his eight younger siblings in tow. He is charged with keeping his family name above reproach until the Season starts and his sister, Miss Adeline Price, is presented to society—though that proves far more difficult than Alistair ever expected when he discovers his rebellious sister climbing down the side of their townhouse and scurrying off to Whitechapel for an archery tournament. His focus remains on saving his family from the certain ruin and disgrace Adeline’s actions invited—until Alistair catches sight of another female archer, her arrow connecting with far more than the center of her target.

And honor above all…

With Theodora’s future—and that of her friends—in jeopardy, will she agree to a marriage devoid of affection, or risk everything for the man who won her heart?

My Review

What a start to a sure to be addictive series! I stayed up to two in the morning reading the whole thing because I couldn’t put it down. I loved having the little backstory at the start because it really helped with knowing the girl later on. When Theodora and Alistair meet you just know it’s going to be an adventure with them. I loved all the archery and the girls’ reason for sneaking around and competing is a great one even if they are putting themselves at risk.  When Theodora was found out and threatened I almost screamed because of how horrible the man was.

Theodora is amazing! She’s smart, can take care of herself, and will do anything to protect her friends. I loved her from the start because she came off as quite until she was stirred up and then she was ready to fight. The way she figures things out to hit her targets is amazing and her work with maps is interesting.

Alistair is great. He has such a weight on his shoulders taking care of his siblings and taking care of the estates while his father is sick that he doesn’t think about his future. He is overprotective and has some funny ways of keeping his sister in the house, but he is very caring and loves his family.

I can’t wait for the next one and see what else happens with them all.
