What I’m Reading This Week: Emma Locke and Diana Gabaldon Plus a Writing Update

stencil.blog-post-feature (2)

This week I am jumping back into the Outlander world by getting back to reading The Fiery Cross. I took a break from it months ago because it is very slow in the beginning and I was frustrated with it so I stepped back from it for awhile. I’m also going to be reading The Art of Ruining a Rake by Emma Locke. I have been loving her Naughty Girls series and can’t wait to see what happens in this one.

I’m also going to be reading The Art of Ruining a Rake by Emma Locke. I have been loving her Naughty Girls series and can’t wait to see what happens in this one. If you’ve been following me for awhile then you know I love series that are not the typical ballroom setting and very innocent heroines. I love this series because it’s different.

Writing Update

Now a writing update! I got some time last week to write again and the words were flowing. My hero and heroine made a decision I did not see coming and I wondered if it would work, but after lots of thinking, I decided it worked perfectly for the story. Still no clue how long it will be, but I’m excited to see what happens with it.

No Review, but an Update!

I’ve been super busy this week as my two posts (release day for two books!) yesterday showed. So I didn’t have time to read a book for review today because since I was working on things behind the scenes for different people. Since there is no review I thought I would do an update post.

Friday is a blog tour that I am super excited about! It is for Hell Hath No Fury by Annabelle Anders. She is apart of a writing group I’m in on Facebook and this is her first book and I’m thrilled to read it and be apart of the tour.

Tomorrow is the cover reveal for Christina McKnight’s Adeline and I can’t wait for it either.

You can still join my Sassy Historial Romancers group on Facebook.

What I’m Reading This Week: Christy Carlyle and Vanessa Kelly

I hope everyone had a great Father’s day! Ours was a quiet one with just my dad’s picking what he wanted us to make for supper (fish), a card, and gift. I didn’t get a chance to read all weekend but have some book to read this week.

Wednesday I will have a review of Christy Carlyle’s A Study in Scoundrels. I can’t wait to read this one. Friday will be an ARC review of Three Weeks with a Princess by Vanessa Kelly! I loved the first one in this series.

Tomorrow is release day for The Pleasures of Passion (Sinful Suitors #4) by Sabrina Jeffries and you can read my review by clicking that link.

What I’m Reading This Week

Wow, I don’t remember the last time I did one of these posts! I have been so busy with reviews that my regular schedule has been forgotten again, but that can be a good thing. Anyway, I have two new to me authors that I’m reading this week and have already started reading one.

First up is the one I started last it is The Merchant’s Pearl by Amie O’Brien. This one has a very different setting and a different POV than most. I am enjoying it so far and it will be Wednesday’s review.

The next one is The Firstborn by Quenby Olson for a Random Friday Review. I haven’t started it yet because I don’t like to read multiple books at once.

I’ve got a packed review schedule until the end of the month, but next Friday Jude Knight will be featured on Sassy Book Lover and I can’t wait.

Blurb

Inspired by the tale of Sleeping Beauty–an erotically charged historical romance novella from the acclaimed Fiery Tales series. One sleeping rake, one scorching kiss, one night of unforgettable passion…

Five years ago, the notorious rake, Adrien d’Aspe, Marquis de Beaulain, was awakened by a sensuous kiss–and experienced a night of raw ecstasy that was branded into his memory.

Years later, he spots his mysterious seductress–and this time, he has no intention of letting her go…

**NOTE: Originally published in the AWAKENED BY A KISS anthology.

My Review

*I received a copy of Historical Hellions which includes this book from one of the authors in exchange for my honest review

Normally I don’t like ones at this spice level, but I loved this one. I loved that it was set in France, that there was a small mystery surrounding that night, and a twist at the end I did expect. There is a lot of steam in this one, but enough of a story to balance it out for me.

Catherine had her reasons for what she did five years ago and the memory of that night has stayed with her. Once she told her whole story everything made sense and I loved her.

Adrien is not shy at all about the life he lives, but he is still loveable. There is something about how he wanted answers about that night that makes you love him because it wasn’t for bad reasons.

What I’m Reading This Week: The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin

stencil-blog-post-feature-2

If you follow me on Instagram then you have seen what I’m reading this week. I am reading The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin! I am obsessed with the TV series Victorica which is based on her book Victoria and she also created the show. So when a friend said she had two of her books and sent them home with me after a girls night I quickly checked my blog schedule so I could start reading as soon as I had nothing else on my calendar.Capture

Somethings kept me from diving in a few days ago. but I will be tonight and will be reviewing it for Book Review Wednesday!

I also had to take this pretty picture of the book.

What I’m Reading This Week: A Box Set and A Book with Highlanders

stencil-blog-post-feature-2

This week I’m reading My Highlander Husband by Nancy Pennick and you will see it’s review Friday during the blog tour for it! It’s set in one of my favorite time periods in the 1700’s and sounds like a lot will happen it.

I am also reading the Regency Ever After: Timeless Tales and Fables II box set that is by some authors I know and love and a couple of new to me authors. I am going to do one big post with all the reviews probably on the 7th.

For this week’s Review Wednesday I’m not sure what it will be so it will be a surprise.
