He’s the last Rogue standing, and the wickedest …

Charles Humphrey, the Earl of Lonsdale is infamous for his seductions. With laughing gray eyes and a halo of blond hair, he’s every woman’s wicked dream. Beneath that devil-may-care grin he has a painful past that has made him sure love was not for him, even as the rest of his friends, the members of the League of Rogues, settle down in wedded bliss. When he accidentally rescues a mysterious beauty with eyes as haunted as his own and shares one life-changing kiss with her, she vanishes in the night. Charles vows to find this angel who might yet save his soul but he knows anyone he cares about is in grave danger when an old enemy resurfaces a final time for revenge…

She’s the only woman who can save him…

Lily has secrets, too many secrets. When she’s abducted and taken into the London underworld by a gang of nefarious brutes, she’s rescued by Charles, the one man who can never know her past. She can’t let him discover her feelings or her secrets, but she can’t resist sharing one kiss with him before escaping his passionate embrace. That taste of the last bachelor of the League of Rogues leaves her desiring a future she cannot have – especially when her master demands she prove her loyalty in a most deadly way…

Warning: This book contains a scandalous rogue with a heart of gold, a lady who risks it all to save him, and a league of rogues who value friendship and love above all else.

This a hold your breath kind of story. The end to everything is finally near and it is full of shocking twists that make you hold your breath and moments that make you laugh. I never saw any of the twists coming and their instant passion leap off the pages. Slowly all the details of what happened all those years ago come out to explain why he hates them. You will not know everything until the end because he is twisted and you feel sorry for him at times while hating him. I absolutely loved that the wives figured out one of her secrets and the plan they set in motion. I laughed at Emily and her way of chaperoning. I also can perfectly picture him carrying her up the stairs while looking around.

Lily is full of surprises from her training to who she really. I was completely shocked by her and loved it. She was extremely brave and strong to do everything she did especially in the end. That blew me away and had me holding my breath.

Charles has been slowly slipping away from his friends for some time now. He hides behind that smile of his, but he has a heart of gold and is struggling. I always knew he was going to have the most shocking story.

I absolutely loved his mother and sister.

Anything can happen on Twelfth Night…

When widowed countess Minerva, Lady Harlow, discovers a devastating secret about her late husband just before Christmas, she turns to trusted friend, Sir Tristan King, for support. However, when a long-denied desire flares to life—and Minerva and Tristan agree to a Twelfth Night tryst—Tristan worries a secret of his own will ruin a treasured friendship. But then again, perhaps this shared night of wicked, unbridled passion will spark an everlasting love…

My Review

Have your fan ready with this one. That spark had been hidden deep in both of them until a conversation and kiss under the mistletoe ignited it. They were made for each other and didn’t know it. They had many interesting lessons that made their feelings strong and known. I loved how they didn’t play games and understood each other. I wasn’t expecting him to pop up during the show, but that just brought them together.

Minerva was sparked by finding out her husband’s secret to discover what she had been missing in the bedroom. She never expected some of the things she saw or that she would also enjoy them. I loved the fire in her and how she didn’t run and hide from anything.

Tristan had admired her from afar for years and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He had no problems teaching her what she wished to learn. I liked that he liked to take control and command, but not in a way that would be a turn-off as he was still gentle.

This story does have a bit of kink in it, but nothing too far out there or anything between them that readers would be upset over (like a threesome).

Beware romantic spirits from Christmas past…

Due to the terms of an estranged relative’s will, the Duke of Silkridge must revisit the cold, unforgiving mountains where he lost everything he once loved. As soon as he rights his family legacy, he’ll return to London where he belongs. He definitely won’t rekindle the forbidden spark crackling between him and the irresistible spitfire he’d left behind…

Noelle Pratchett is immune to charming rakehells like the arrogant duke. He stole her heart, stole her first kiss, and then stole away one night never to return. Now he’s back—and so are all the old feelings. Noelle knows he won’t stay. But how can she maintain her icy shields when every heated glance melts her to her core?

The Twelve Dukes of Christmas is a laugh-out-loud historical romance series of heartwarming Regency romps nestled in a picturesque snow-covered village. After all, nothing heats up a winter night quite like finding oneself in the arms of a duke!

My Review

This story definitely had me laughing throughout the whole book. This story takes on A Christmas Story vibes because everyone is happy to live in Christmas (Cressmouth). The town is full of unique and fun people that will win you over and have you in the Christmas spirit. That spark from 5 years before is still there and no matter what they tell themselves it is going to get stronger. They quickly realized they couldn’t let go of those feelings and that the Christmas spirit was bringing them together.

Noelle is magical in her own way. She does the work of multiple people and does it quickly. She knew something had caused him to leave before and understood once he told her everything. I loved her right away because she instantly makes you smile with how she does things and talks to him.

Benjamin hates Christmas because it brings back horrible memories of pasts Christmases. He broke my heart because of how much he desperately wanted that heirloom. The Christmas spirit slowly lightened him up the longer he was there. He found what he really needed.

This masked lord…
Lord Jasper, younger son of a duke, suffered horrible burns fighting in the Napoleonic Wars. He wears a mask to hide his face from the stares and screams and finds comfort in the shadows. Jasper is an exceptional bounty hunter, so when a woman summons him to her deathbed and asks him to find her runaway daughter before she passes away, he doesn’t refuse. Jasper is close to his quarry when he’s knifed by an assailant. Imagine his surprise when he regains consciousness in the arms of the woman he seeks. Except she’s not at all what he expected.

Is not the only one with scars.
On a remote cliff on the sea, Olivia Carlisle calls her five-year-old son in from an approaching storm. But the little boy is more interested in the man he’s found on the trail to their hidden cottage. Olivia fears men and wants nothing more than to leave the injured man where she found him. But his knife wound is severe, and with the approaching storm, she knows leaving him will condemn him to death. As Jasper begins to heal, Olivia acknowledges her attraction to him, even though such emotions terrify her almost as much as returning to London. Jasper must convince her that her only chance at safety is to challenge the man who pursues her. They must travel into the lion’s den—he to face his vulnerability and she to face her worst fears.

My Review

I knew the first time Jasper appeared in Third Son’s a Charm that his story would not disappoint. Jasper and Olivia are two people that have something horrible in their pasts that they need to overcome. Their passion and understanding of each other is rare and perfect. It was amazing how easily they seemed to click and light a spark between them. The whole time they were together in that cottage was like a fairytale. When they got to London it was another creature. Certain peoples lies and plans were at work to keep them apart. I was holding my breath at so many points with kidnappings, schemes, and the prince regent. I may have cheered at the end.

Olivia is one of my favorite heroines. She is extremely strong to spend all that time on the run and to go back to London to take on the man that mad her run. I loved seeing her learn to trust again and become braver and stronger. She had no problems standing up to anyone and didn’t think twice about doing what she needed to do. She was like a new woman in that ballroom when she said no and realized she loved Jasper.

Jasper is also a favorite hero on mine. He knew he right away he would not take her back and that he would protect her no matter what. He pulled at my heart every time he was alone with Richard. When he took off his mask and learned that it was not as bad as he thought I wanted to cheer. He realized that he was a hero and deserved to be loved and to stop hiding.

I did not expect the part with the friend being married or what happened there. Hope he also gets a happy ending.

This story could be triggering to some as the topics of fires and rape play a big part in it. There is nothing graphic and they are handled tastefully and perfectly in my opinion. Both topics are in the past.

A spirited lady facing spinsterhood. A common man with a noble mission. And a surprise that just might be waiting for them under the mistletoe. . .

Bow Street Runner Daffin Oakleaf abhors Christmas. Carol singing and holiday cheer only remind him of a dark time. When a close friend calls on him for help, Daffin is happy to capitalize on the distraction. But when he learns the lovely Lady Regina is the one in danger, he’s to become bodyguard to the captivating woman…

Regina has one mission: to find a night of passion in the arms of a gentleman. Considered firmly on the shelf, Regina has given up on marriage—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be denied the pleasure married ladies experience. Daffin has long captured her attention…and when a threat calls him to her side, the sparks between them ignite. But how can a hired bodyguard find his way into Regina’s noble heart?

My Review

Sparks fly like you’ve never read before with these two. I couldn’t put it down from the start with her plan and the meeting in his office. No one could deny what was between them and wanted them to be happy.  The passion between them just kept building as time went on. The added mystery of who was trying to kill Regina does not disappoint and I thought I had it figured out twice and was completely wrong. I absolutely loved how her family was especially her grandmother. No one cared about his past and it brought them closer. I laughed at the ending when the women set in on her uncle.

Regina is tired of not being able to make her decisions and she was going to make one big one before her birthday. She was not an ordinary girl hid from danger, she took it on and didn’t let fear take over. I loved how she got him to open up and didn’t even blink at the news story about him.

Daffin has a tragic reason for hating Christmas, but he will do anything for his friends that are like family. Just when I thought I had him figured out something else about him would surprise me. He has something special about him that captures you and makes you want to know him. I could just picture him when he said: “Please give me a reason to pull this trigger.” when he crashed into that room.

This is the first time a blonde hero has become a favorite. This is one of those where you can picture everything.

Lady Catherine Langdon is special, and not because she’s the daughter of a duke. She comes from a long line of individuals born with extraordinary gifts, and she is one of the few that has a variation of all three. On the brink of war she makes a decision that will irrevocably alter the course of her life—love or duty.

Asher Rossington, the Marquess of Seabrook, decided at a very early age that he would not live an idle life. His father forbade him from being a spy for the crown, but he chose to ignore it. Ash never regretted his choice, but wished he could have repaired his relationship with his father before he died. Now with the fate of the world in turmoil he has to make another hard decision—remain a spy for king and country, or go home and honor his father’s title.

The Great War brings Catherine and Asher into each other’s lives. Only time will tell if their destiny is to be together, or if they will ultimately serve a higher purpose.

My Review

I rarely get to read one set in this time period or a good war romance and this was an amazing read! The war kept them apart and brought them together many times. I loved that they seemed to instantly fall in love and that love kept them going through many horrible things. I held my breath many times afraid of what was going to happen with all the characters. The wedding and ending were perfect.

Catherine used her gifts to help people and she wasn’t going to let them go to waste. I loved her right away because she didn’t run from anything and had no problem saying what she thought.

Asher met her at the perfect time in his life. He was determined to help his country and rescue those he loved and cared about. I loved him right away because of how he talked and interacted with others.

Publication Date: October 30, 2018
Genres: Adult, Historical, Romance

Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | iBooks

He’s everything she’s trying to avoid…But somehow precisely what she needs…

Caleb Crawford doesn’t want to be a duke. He’d much rather build houses for a living. So when fate disrupts his peaceful life and burdens him with the responsibilities of a newly inherited title, he does what any sensible man would do by fleeing London, disguising himself as a laborer, and seeking refuge with three young spinsters who need his help with a leaky roof.

Ruined by a marquess who promised her the world, Mary Clemens has sworn to avoid marriage forever. Instead, she intends to live out her days with her friends and the orphaned children they’ve taken into their care. But when Mr. Crawford comes knocking, Mary finds herself in real danger of risking heartbreak all over again. Especially when she discovers that he’s not at all what he seems.

My Review

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤ Spice Level: 💋💋💋

I absolutely loved this hidden identity story because it is different from most. I was hooked from the start with the shock of him finding out he is the Duke now. The moment they met sparks were flying and everyone could feel the tension between them. I’m sure my face was similar to his when he found out who had ruined her. They would take one step closer only to fall back two, but it was all worth it in the end. I loved how they brought everyone together again. The epilogue is one of the best I’ve read because it is not the typical one and gives updates on many people.

Mary has sworn to guard her heart and never be fooled again, but her heart had other plans. I loved her from the start because she spoke her mind to everyone. Even though she was stubborn she would listen and realize when she was wrong.

Caleb is defiantly not an ordinary duke and was going to live the way he wanted to. He wasn’t what anyone would expect from a duke or most men. I loved that he was so honorably and wanted to make things right all around.

Life isn’t always perfect, but the key to living happy is enjoying what you have.

Since the peril and danger stalking them has passed, the Hawkins family is at their country estate in Kent to rest. Emmaline, the Countess of Archewyne, is both excited and melancholy when she stumbles upon a note written by her father—the Earl of St. Ives—before he was murdered that outlines a treasure hunt just like he’d done for her when she was a child. Perhaps she can finally tell him goodbye.

Miles Lawrence Hawkins, the fifth Earl of Archewyne, has much on his mind now that his friend and mentor has died, leaving the responsibilities of the king’s agents to him. First and foremost, he wants to make certain his growing family is still intact after the horrors they’d come through, but how to usher in healing when well-meaning friends and colleagues keep dropping by and shattering the peace? Not to mention the damned geese that won’t leave him alone.

As Emmaline and Miles follow the clues her father hid about the estate, they make plans for a holiday to Egypt, the country where their love affair first began. Throughout it all, St. Ives’ written words bring them closer as a family. With their children and the ever-present geese gathered around, the treasure they seek is found, and serves to make them all delighted on a summer’s evening.

My Review

I am so glad that Sandra did this novella after how the last story ended (loved it) because I needed to know how they recovered from everything! The treasure hunt was so much fun because it helped them get back to normal. Jane had me laughing and rolling my eyes at every turn. They are a family that you just love no matter what and I can’t wait to see what they get up to next. I hope to see a grown-up Jane one day because she will be so much fun.

Emmaline was really shaken to her core by what happened and losing her father. I was so afraid she wouldn’t recover, but that note was just what she needed. She is strong, but stronger because of her family.

Miles has stepped into his new role with more ease than I expected. Now he just needs those geese to leave him alone. He will never lose his love for her and it only gets stronger.

Isabelle Beaumont may be the most sought-after courtesan in London, but there’s more to this beautiful seductress than meets the eye. Born to nobility, yet consigned to a life on the streets, Isabelle has done more than just survive. Hell truly hath no fury like a lady of society scorned.

As the unexpected heir to an Earldom, the last thing Francis Gilbert needs is to become embroiled with the mysterious Belle Beaumont. A battle of wills can only lead to one thing… his inevitable surrender. But there’s more than just their hearts at stake. The devil lurks silently in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to collect his dues.

My Review

An eye for an eye truly has meaning when it comes to a determined scorned woman like Isabelle. The opening was a complete shock that had me excited for the rest of the book. I knew there had to be a reason for it and that she wasn’t going to be the usual heroine. Their love is an instant passion that practically leaps off the pages. But it’s not an easy road for them. They are very much opposites in many ways but explode when they lose control. They had a way of understanding each other and knowing how to push each other’s buttons. I really didn’t expect what Becky did or how that would all play out. Lucifer was a tricky one that I couldn’t predict what he would do next. Victoria was the biggest shock in the end that I never saw coming at all.

Isabelle is truly a woman you do not want to harm and be on the receiving end of her revenge. I have an image of her in my head of her having the air and presence of a queen warrior ready for battle. She is one you have to learn about to understand and love because there is so much to her.

Francis is every woman’s dream with how much he cares about others. He is calmer and more cool-headed than her but can meet her head for head in everything. I loved that he figured out what happened to her and didn’t even bat an eye at what she did. He made sure things were set to right.

The girls in the Scarlet Salon have such unique stories and I can’t wait for more.

Hearts break. Armor tarnishes. Honor remains.
Brokken, Texas, 1867

Abigail Bailey isn’t sure her idea was wise. She’s not even sure she can love another man after her beloved Sam perished in a Union run prisoner of war camp. But her town needs a doctor, and she has decided to accept any man competent to do the job. Yet doubt plagues her. What will he think when he finds she is uneducated, so much so that she did not pen her own letters to him?

The Civil War broke Dr. Mathew Knight. His decisions of who to save, who to allow to die, even what to use, haunts his every step. He can never be unbroken, but he wants a chance for his son. Four-year-old Ethan has been left terrorized after witnessing atrocities no one should have to see. Mathew’s child needs a mother. He hopes Abigail Bailey may fill that role, an omission he made in his letters. Perhaps, too, he’ll have a chance to start over, maybe even to find a reason to practice medicine again.

Two broken people in a broken town might be what they each need to become whole again.

My Review

Knights in shining armor aren’t always men and sometimes there is more than one. These two needed each other more than they realized and weathered the storm together. I was hooked from the moment he bought the ticket because I knew he was going to need someone to pull him up. They had an instant connection that got stronger as time went on and helped them in many ways. Ethan needed them both to help him after what he had seen and the three of them together was the strongest. There are amazing scenes and I can’t wait to read more about the town of Brokken.

Abigail loved her husband and she loves this town. She is as stubborn as they come and will battle anyone that tries to tell her what to do. I loved her right away because she didn’t bat an eye at helping Ethan and seemed to know exactly what he needed.

Mathew is very much haunted by the war and what happened with his son. He didn’t come away without scars mentally and physically, but he would do anything to help his son. I loved how open he was with her and didn’t bat an eye at her past or anything she said.

Lynda did a great job writing a sweet romance without losing the spark between.
