HE WANTS HER…
Practiced rake Roman Alexander never meant to seduce his best friend’s sister. He certainly never intends to do it again. The handsome scoundrel has never felt more compelled to be a better man. But the damage has been done, for his buttoned-up spinster refuses to marry a bounder like him—and maddeningly, she doesn’t seem to like him. Nevertheless, he can’t seem to forget her, or her passionate response to his kisses. How much danger could there be in one more try?

SHE WANTS REVENGE
Practical headmistress Lucy Lancester naively believes her charming rogue has moved on to his next conquest, leaving her free to cherish their one night together for the rest of her bluestocking days. Until the afternoon he arrives at her school intent on proving their one night together wasn’t enough—and this time, the scandal can’t be contained. Well, two can play at that. How hard can it be to ruin a rake?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I couldn’t put it down! I was pulled in straight away with the backstory with her parents and that she refused to marry him. It’s very clear from the way they can’t keep their hand off of each other that there is something pulling them together, but so many things are keeping them apart at the same time. They both had to grow and learn about themselves and let go of the past. I loved how the writing of a book went along with everything. The ending is one that I wasn’t for sure how it would happen.

Lucy had a mind of her own and a fear from the past that kept her from marrying. She is full of surprises and I never knew how she would react to something. I loved when she finally listened to her brother and her heart.

Roman is a rake of a different kind. He had secrets in his past that needed to be told for everyone’s sake. I loved how he was so willing to change and not just for himself, but his family too. He did what he had to for everyone.

I loved seeing Roman’s working together and doing what they had to do.

Dublin, Ireland, 1880. Tired of treating rich hypochondriacs, Dr Will Fitzgerald left his father’s medical practice and his home on Merrion Square to live and practice medicine in the Liberties. His parents were appalled and his fiancée broke off their engagement. But when Will spends a night in a brothel on the eve of his best friend’s wedding, little does he know that the scarred and disgraced young woman he meets there will alter the course of his life.

Isobel Stevens was schooled to be a lady, but a seduction put an end to all her father’s hopes for her. Disowned, she left Co Galway for Dublin and fell into prostitution. On the advice of a handsome young doctor, she leaves the brothel and enters domestic service. But can Isobel escape her past and adapt to life and the chance of love on Merrion Square? Or will she always be seen as a scarlet woman?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is a very different book in many ways and I loved it! There are many things covered in the book that you normally don’t see or if they are mentioned they don’t play a major part in the story. I never knew what was going happen next because something was always getting in the way for them, but also bringing them closer together. Many shocking scandals, secrets, and happy endings throughout the book that keep you hooked. Their love story intertwines perfectly with everything else. Their love could withstand anything. The ending was perfect and unexpected.

Isobel is a very strong woman to have held her head high and came through everything that happened to her. I admire her doing what she had to in every situation no matter how shocking it was and that she kept her head high. She didn’t let her father’s words fully pull her down, but did need the right person to show her that she was worthy.

WIll did not look down on anyone and wanted to help those less fortunate no matter what. I loved the way he tended to always be thinking like a doctor and how he could talk to people so easily no matter what. He needed Isobel and much as she needed him at the time they met.

This book does touch on many subjects that might shock some readers such as abortion, some characters sexuality, strong language, and things that could be considered erotic.

England – 1865…Caitlyn Cody Carrington has come from America to England on a quest to exonerate her great-uncle accused of treason. But his supposed act of treason is but a ploy to ferret out an elusive double-agent. She is asked to play the role of angry, vengeful great-niece in the hopes of attracting the double-agent who will wish to use her disgruntlement to his advantage. Serving as a spy for the Crown, she must report to the mysterious spymaster, Raven, and partner with the charismatic Jonas Jacobs, Earl of Huntingdon. Both men intrigue, confuse and enthrall her…until she discovers why they both captivate her so.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

More twists and thrills! You will be sucked in with their instant connection and finding out who the double agent is. I could not predict how anything happened from the widow’s reaction to the way everything ended. I giggled at her great uncle’s match making and cried in the end. Any time I thought I had figured out who the double agent was another twist would happen to throw me off track. I had no clue at when it was revealed who it was and almost dropped my Kindle. They were meant to be together even though they didn’t fully get along at times.

Cody is a very impressive woman. She could read people, handle a gun, and notice things that others didn’t. I loved how she could create a scene when needed and that she was quick to pick up on the hint about Raven. I cheered for her in the end when she showed how well she could take care of herself and be a spy.

Jonas is one you instantly like even with his reputation. I’ve loved him since the first book and how the mystery still surrounds him. He wasn’t one to hide from his feelings most of the time and he listened to the advice he was given. I loved how open he was about things and acted in the end.

Two morally compromised souls wage a battle of wits—and seduction—against the backdrop of the French Revolution in this thrilling romance from bestselling author Shana Galen.

After her late husband leaves her in debt to some dangerous people, Lady Gabrielle McCullough is forced to become a thief. In the intervening years, her skills have not gone unnoticed. After being recruited by the Scarlet Pimpernel, the mysterious do-gooder spiriting aristocrats out of revolutionary France, Gabrielle crosses the Channel for the most daring mission of her life. Accompanying her is the Earl of Sedgwick, a thief in his own right and an enticingly masculine presence. The man is not to be trusted—nor is Gabrielle’s body when he’s near.

Ramsey Barnes would not say he is an honorable man. His whole life has been based on a lie; why change now? Although it pains him to deceive the tantalizing Gabrielle, he’s working toward an altogether different objective: unmasking the Scarlet Pimpernel. If Ramsey fails, his blackmailer will ruin him. But when Ramsey’s confronted with the carnage of the Reign of Terror, he seeks refuge in Gabrielle’s heated embrace. Now he faces a terrible choice: betray the woman who’s stolen his heart—or risk losing everything.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I love a book that shows a different side of things and this is one of them. There are secrets and scandals surrounding both of them, but their hearts are in the right place with all of it. I loved that they have known each other for a long time, but thought they weren’t supposed to be together for different reasons. I was so sucked in by the mystery of the Scarlet Pimpernel and how he brought them together while helping others. You will get a shock with everything going on in France and be on edge at times not knowing what will happen next. The ending was totally unexpected and amazing.

Gabrielle is a fierce woman that knows what she’s doing when it comes to stealing. I loved that she didn’t hesitate to go to France and help save people. She fought her feelings about Ramsey at every turn, but couldn’t keep them all hidden.

Ramsey has a shocking, but good reason for why he didn’t marry her years ago. I loved what he had done that caused him to be blackmailed because it was not anything I could think of. He is one that you will love right away.

Thousands of readers have already fallen in love with the Briarleys — a family known for centuries of sin and scandal, now on the verge of extinction. In LORD OF DECEIT, Octavia Briarley continues the family tradition of revenge while fighting to reclaim her birthright — but in the Heiress Games, love doesn’t always follow the rules…

Rule #1: Never give your heart to a rake…

Octavia Briarley took society by storm during her debut season — until one disastrous night changed everything, and she was forced to become London’s most notorious courtesan. She’s already paid the price for trusting too easily, and she won’t make the same mistake again. But when she finally gets a chance to take revenge against the cousin who betrayed her, Octavia needs a willing partner for her schemes — someone charming, aristocratic, and devilish. The kind of man she might have married, in a different life. And the kind of man she absolutely can’t risk giving her heart to….

Rule #2: Never fall in love with the target…

Lord Rafael Emmerson-Fairhurst survived as a spy in Spain through charm and subterfuge. In London, he uses those same skills to pursue justice against those who are above the law. His next mission is Lord Somerville — Octavia’s former patron. When Octavia asks Rafe to help sabotage her cousin’s house party, he can’t refuse. If he can destroy Somerville by using her…well, Rafe never claimed to be a saint, and he never promised to protect her. But he never expected Octavia to be quite so delightful — or quite so inexperienced, given her bold demands and reckless smile. And falling in love is a mistake he’s never made before….

Rule #3: Never ignore your destiny…

As Rafe and Octavia set out to ruin the most illustrious house party of the summer, they discover that revenge can’t possibly compete with the pleasure they find in each other’s arms. Can an innocent courtesan and a broken charmer risk losing everything they ever wanted to seize the love they never expected to find?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Revenge is the name of the game for this family. I couldn’t put this one down and read the whole thing in one sitting. One little mistake set off a turn of events that changed everyone’s life and changed them too. I loved when they met at the party and how they seemed to understand each other even though they both had their secrets. I loved that they were working together to ruin the party. The ending is one of those that I always love to read.

Octavia is a woman that did what she had to when she was ruined. I loved how she always kept her head high and her whole personality. I did not see the full reason for her and Somerville’s arrangement coming at first, but it worked perfectly for her. She was a butterfly.

Rafe is nothing like he seems to the people around him. In the first book, I knew there was something about him, but never expected that he had been a spy or how he really was. I loved his personality because he didn’t react to things the way you would expect and was very kind.

There are many characters that get your interest in these books.

An earl in the streets, a rogue in the sheets . . .

Leopold Graham, Lord Hampton, was never a man to let propriety stand in the way of his pursuit of pleasure. Hedonism is his only desire in life—until his father’s death saddles him with debts that threaten to bankrupt the entire family. Now the only thing that stands between him and utter ruin is marriage to a proper, and preferably wealthy, young lady.

Ivy Leighton is no sweet English rose. Perhaps it’s her gypsy roots, but she would rather make a spectacle of her independent spirit than sit quietly on the sidelines. If that means that the only place she’ll ever have in society is firmly on the shelf, then so be it. But when Ivy runs into the handsome, rakish Leo who’s looking for a respectable, well-bred wife, she can’t stop thinking about the troubles they can get into. Now she just has to convince him that a life with her is really what he needs.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley

If you’re looking a new time period to read then this one is perfect! It’s set in the Edwardian era which is new to me in historical romance and I loved it. Times are changing and the old ways are battling the new ways in this one so you get a feel for how it affected everyone. I loved his mother because she was so sneaky with her plans for them and got her own surprise in the end. They had an instant connection and she was exactly what he needed in his life.

Ivy had no plans to marry so she could keep her independence and fight for her rights. I loved her right away because of how she thought about things and didn’t stay quiet. Her backstory was different and I loved it.

Leo had changed since his father’s scandalous death and not for the better. I loved how he was with his mother and that he was doing what he thought best. When he realized who she was he changed to his true self.

I wish this was longer because I flew through it.

Two hearts destined to ignite…

During the most infamous house party of the summer, Callie and Thorington have one chance to secure both their futures. But Callie’s need for freedom is directly at odds with Thorington’s brand of control. When her past puts them both in danger, will their unexpected love be enough to conquer all?

My Review

*I received from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I was grabbed from the start on the ship and knew it was going to be interesting! Their first meet was nothing like you would expect and I didn’t know how it would play out from there. They both liked being in control but needed to let go a bit to help each other. I loved their lessons and how they were sometimes at odd other things. I loved how they got engaged her with her cousins.

Callie was not a lady to be messed with. I loved that she was in charge of her own ships and her terms for a marriage. Her reasons for wanting to win were understandable and made a lot of sense. She wasn’t out for blood like her family has been known for.

Gavin comes off as a very cold hearted most of the time, but he really isn’t. I loved how much he cares about his siblings and that he didn’t realize how protective he was. His background explains a lot about him and made sense to why he was the way he was.

They were perfect for each other.

In the Rogues to Riches historical romance series, sigh-worthy Regency rogues sweep strong-willed young ladies into whirlwind romance with rollicking adventure.

Unlike proper debutantes, Miss Dahlia Grenville is secretly Robin Hood in a bonnet. Her home for wayward girls has too many dependents and not enough donations. But just as she’s about to pull off the heist of the Season, she tumbles straight into the arms of the handsome detective who has sworn to deliver Mayfair’s mysterious thief straight to the gallows.

Highly principled Bow Street runner Simon Spaulding’s world is black and white. There’s no mastermind too clever, no criminal alive who can escape the hangman. Until he realizes the delightful young lady he’s been courting is a liar and a thief. Suddenly, his career—and his heart—are in peril. How can he bring her to justice when it means losing her forever?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author via NetGalley

Sparks fly from the start with this one. How can you not love a female Robin Hood and a man who sees everyone as the same? Their first meeting is not one you expect and I loved how they didn’t deny or fight their attractions to each other. They were opposites in many ways but were perfect for each other. When she was found out I had no clue how he would react or what was going to happen but the way it worked out was perfect. His proposal is what dreams are made of and one of my favorites. The ending was amazing too.

Dahlia is one of my favorite heroines. She doesn’t hold back anything but has a bit of a mystery about her. I loved her right away because she was not afraid to protect a young girl and would do anything to help those girls. I could really connect with her.

Simon has set out to be the best he can. I love that he didn’t look down on the people in St. Giles and treated them the same in every way. His past can break your heart, but as the story unfolds and he learns more it changes in many ways.

I can’t wait for the next one to see what happens.

Excerpt

Simon did not pay calls upon ladies. Or anyone at all. He had no time for idle fraternization. Yet here he was on the threshold of the St. Giles School for Girls, adjusting his cravat.
The door swung open.
Just as the night before, no butler or housekeeper attended callers, but rather the headmistress herself.
He bowed. “Good afternoon, Miss Grenville. I trust the rest of your evening passed much more peacefully?”
“I’ll send for the others at once,” she said without curtseying. Her eyes twinkled. “I thank you for both your service and your punctuality. She has been looking forward to your visit all day.”
Before he could so much as blink, Miss Grenville motioned to a young girl in a frayed pinafore, who immediately raced up a somewhat lopsided staircase and disappeared into the next floor.
Miss Grenville turned back to him with a brisk nod. “There. She will be down any moment. We won’t keep you long.”
“She needn’t rush,” he found himself saying. “I’ve nothing but casework awaiting me.”
Miss Grenville gave him a long, considering look.
Simon straightened. He had the distinct impression this young lady was taking his measure in the same careful, detailed way he had taught the other men on the force.
Something like: Hat, medium quality. Not rich, not poor. Hair, a bit too long—too much time between visits to the barber. Jaw, clean-shaven. Suit, waistcoat, cravat, well-tailored and pristine. He was an inspector, not a beadle or a street watchman. And he had returned, just as he’d promised.
“Forgive me.” Miss Grenville dropped a curtsey elegant enough to rival a duchess. “We have just finished lessons, and I’m afraid my mind was with administrative responsibilities, and not on my manners.”
Simon could scarcely fault her for a trait his colleagues would claim he himself had perfected, so he merely tipped his hat. “There is nothing to forgive. A strong focus on one’s duty is a worthy quality indeed.”
“Is it? ’Twould be better if I could do less focusing, more achieving, but, well… Someday, things will turn around. I would invite you to tea, but we don’t often take it.” She pushed the door open wider. “But you can still come in. As long as you aren’t expecting crumpets.”
“I despise crumpets,” he assured her. “Ghastly things. Make me sneeze worse than cats.”
“Well, if you ever find yourself with a surplus, I am certain my girls will be happy to dispose of them for you.”
“Duly noted,” he promised, and stepped across the threshold…R2R-03-LON_Series.png

*I was provided a copy for my honest review.

This one is so different from any other that I have read and it is amazing! You will not be able to predict how it ends at all. I was hooked from the start in the ballroom when it was clear to everyone what they thought of each other. I somewhat felt bad for her husband especially after the duels, but the twist in the end killed that feeling and he got what he deserved. There were sparks from the start between them and I wanted them together so much. The ending was perfect and I loved how everyone ended up.

Cecily was not going to become one of the ladies that turned a blind eye to her husband’s doings. I loved her right away because she did not hide her feelings from anyone and was set on finding a way to have her freedom again. I cheered her on every time she stood up to someone.

Stephen was such an honorable man that would help both of them in any way he could. I loved him because he realized he couldn’t always fix something and when he let her loose with the pool cue. He blamed himself for things that weren’t his fault and needed to let go of that feeling.

I loved her friends because they were helping to plot and I loved her father because he made sure the contracts were in her favor. I would also fear him too because he would protect her.

“Stephen!” she gasped, shocked by what he seemed intent upon doing. “What on earth are you doing?”
He looked up at her, smiling lustily. “Nothing.”
And then he went about his business.
Not in a million years had she ever imagined allowing a man to do… this!
And with his mouth no less!
“Oh, my God! Stephen, you are wicked,” she said, feeling quite wicked herself as she grasped the sides of his head.
He was not to be deterred. His tongue stroked and sucked in much the same way he’d done with her mouth, causing a new multitude of sensations to spiral inside of her.
He paused only a moment to look up at her.
“Surrender, Cecily.” He said. Giving her a lazy, sensual smile, “And prepare to die.”

A little about the music in the trailer…

The song for the trailer was written by myself and my sister, Marcie Stanley. Marcie’s beautiful voice is featured while she plays the piano… Due to illness, Marcie doesn’t perform much anymore so it was very special for me to be able to use the song that we wrote together, over twenty years ago.
The Song is titled “Disposable Relationship.” I have a few tweeks for the lyrics to fit Stephen and Cecily’s situation. Next time Marcie is up to recording I’ll change them to this:
For you, I would have done anything.
For you, can NOT have my soul.
For once you looked at me with empty eyes, the consequences… began to roll…
You’re a disposable relationship, damn the ton I’ll see your body gone. I’m throwing away a piece of my heart with you.
with the ash and the chamber pots of my life… you’re going down and I won’t cry… anymore…

Married to the same man for over 25 years, Annabelle Anders is mother to three children and two Miniature Wiener dogs. After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, she and her husband got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything; their business, their home, even their car.

At this point, she put her B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender.

Unwilling to give up on a professional life, she simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management.

And then the energy market dropped off.

And then her dog died.

We can only be grateful for this series of unfortunate events, for, with nothing to lose and completely demoralized, she sat down and began to write the romance novels which had until then, existed only in her imagination.

She is happy to have found her place in life.

Finally.

I write under the name ANNABELLE ANDERS and my first book, Hell Hath No Fury released on 7-7-17. I love the date!

Anyway, my novel is an edgy Regency Romance. I say ‘ edgy’, because it’s a little off the beaten path. Whereas most heroines in Regency Romances begin the story NEEDING a husband, my character, Cecily, needs to get rid of one. The man she married (an earl) turned out to be a complete and utter toad (not literally! LOL)

My QUESTION FOR THIS GIVEAWAY is: Does it bother you that the hero is not the man she is married to in the beginning? E-mail your comment to andersannabelle@gmail.com along with your address and I’ll send you a Hell Hath No Fury Tasseled Bookmark. I look forward to discovering your thoughts on this concept!

A SPY NEVER REALLY RETIRES…
Long ago, Marcus Gray, the Marquess of Haversham, left the Home Office with a blackened reputation and a determination to never look back. He skirted the edges of London society, caring for little other than himself, until he crossed paths with Caroline Staveley. When Marc discovers the recently widowed Caroline has returned to London and her late husband’s actions have placed her in danger, he is quickly lured into the once familiar game of cat and mouse he thought he’d escaped.

…NOT WHEN THE LADY HE LOVES IS IN DANGER
Caroline, Viscountess Staveley, is struggling to raise her children and find her place in the world now that her steady and reliable husband is gone. The last thing she needs is another complication, and that is exactly what the notorious skirt-chasing Haversham is—a complicated, unapologetic rake that tempts her like no one ever has. As she starts to unravel his secrets, however, she begins to wonder who he really is and exactly how many secrets he’s keeping.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I never knew it was possible for a book to make you blush or make your eyes go wide until this one! I love a story with spies and this one is at the top of my list. There is a perfect mix of romance and suspense that goes perfectly together. There are a couple of twists that I didn’t see coming especially with the one lord that I never guessed at. I loved how they could be at each other’s throats, but that spark was still there waiting to burst. They are a couple that is totally comfortable with each other from the start and with the kids.

Caroline is a woman that knows her mind. She doesn’t fall at any man’s feet and knows what she wants to do. I loved her from the start because she didn’t hold anything back and was determined to find out everything. When she was worked up look out because she let you know how she felt.

Marc can charm anyone in many ways. He was not one to be embarrassed by anything or to lie. I loved him as soon as he found out she was in danger because it was very clear that he would protect her and her family no matter what. He can win you over with the way he is with kids.

Kids and pets are two of my favorite things and Ava has a way of including both perfectly. There is a scene with a bathtub that explains my first comment ;).
