The Earl and Countess of Banfield cordially request your attendance at the wedding for their daughters: Lady Tamsyn Hambly to Mr. Gryffyn Cardew, & Lady Morgan Hambly to Harold Mort, Viscount Blackwater, on the 24th day of December, 1811, at Castle Keyvnor, Bocka Morrow, Cornwall.

“A Love for Lady Winter” by Christy Carlyle
Lady Winifred Gissing has a secret: she sees ghosts. With this strange skill, and her odd, ethereal appearance, she knows she’ll never find acceptance among society, let alone love. But when she travels to Castle Keyvnor, she meets her aunt’s godson, Septimus Locke, the Earl of Carwarren. Scientific, rational Septimus stirs an unexpected passion in her, and she finds his experiments in galvanism fascinating. Romance sparks between them, but will his past and her unusual ability destroy their chance at happiness?

“His Christmas Angel” by Jerrica Knight-Catania
Ethan Dallimore, Duke of Westbury, would like a little peace in his life. Unfortunately, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders with one demanding sister and one always-underfoot ward. To make matters worse, he arrives at Castle Keyvnor with a debilitating headache that won’t go away. All he wants to do is sleep until it’s gone, but that’s not an option as he’s traveled to the tip of Cornwall to attend a holiday wedding, and even houseguests have their duties. However, Ethan’s desire to sleep is soon replaced with his desire to get to know the mysterious beauty whose mere presence seems to take his pain away.

Miss Angel Quinn doesn’t exactly belong at Castle Keyvnor with all its aristocratic guests, even if she does share a bloodline with some of them. But she knows it’s important to accept the invitation to her long-estranged cousins’ weddings, so she puts on her grown-up bloomers and heads for the castle. But so much more awaits her in the mystical village of Bocka Morrow, and the young witch may soon discover just who she was always meant to be.

“Lady Rose & Lord Snow” by Claudia Dain
The Grimstone has come to Castle Keyvnor. His name is Charles Snowingham and he is the Earl of Grimstone. Upon his right hand he wears the Grimstone ring, an ancient ring imbued with, it is said, ancient power to destroy ghosts and ghouls and otherworldly things. Snow is not the sort of man to believe in fairy tales, until he arrives in Castle Keyvnor, that is, and he meets Lady Rose Hambly.

Lady Rose is determined to escape her ancestral home, Castle Keyvor. She’s not about to admit it publicly, but there is a certain ghost at the castle who is haunting her. Since her sisters Morgan and Tamsyn are being wed on Christmas, and since the castle will be awash with eligible men, she is determined to find a husband as quickly as possible, if only to get away from Castle Keyvnor and her impossible ghost.

What Lady Rose and Lord Snow do not realize is that the ghosts of Keyvnor want them away from the castle immediately, if not sooner. The Grimstone ring spells their doom, and Rose’s ghost doesn’t want to haunt her just as fervently as she wishes not to be haunted. Will Rose take romantic advice from a ghost who does nothing but insult her? Not willingly.

I really loved this one! I was hooked from the start because she could see ghosts and then because they both were unique. The way they first met was very different and really said a lot about love and them. I loved her aunts and that there were secrets surrounding everyone.

Winifred has spent a long time keeping secrets to protect her family and needs to be free. I loved her right away because she wanted to help the ghosts she saw. She needed to let it all out and set herself free.

Septimus needs to let his anger free and forgive before he can be free. I loved him because he was so different and the things he did. He wanted to learn so much and everything.

This may be my favorite in this series! I loved that this one involved witches and a unique way of bringing them together. I had no clue as to why she was being affected in the castle they way she was until it was made clear. They needed each other before they even met and the castle brought them together.

Angel had been for years trying to find out what her gift was and didn’t know it was there all along. I loved that she was on a journey for herself and found love too. She didn’t back down and was very open with people.

Ethan was plagued not only by his sister and ward but also a huge headache that nothing helped. I loved that he was instantly drawn to her and didn’t know why. He was more open than you would think to everything.

Lady Rose & Lord Snow by Claudia Dain

The Grimstone ring will definitely make you sit up and pull you into this story. I love that this one was all about destiny and that included some favorite ghosts. So many things were working to bring them together for different reasons. Once they were both in the castle it’s fast from there. I was sad but also happy to see a favorite ghost go.

Rose was completely serious about finding a husband right away even though her plan does go as planned. I loved that she spoke her mind and that people knew she was serious. She was extremely sensitive to the ghost especially one.

Charles wore the ring and thought nothing about the legend about it no matter what his grandmother said. I loved that as soon as he got to the castle he was pulled towards her and didn’t know why. He understood her more than anyone else.

The Earl and Countess of Banfield cordially request your attendance at the wedding for their daughters: Lady Tamsyn Hambly to Mr. Gryffyn Cardew, Lady Morgan Hambly to Harold Mort, Viscount Blackwater, on the 24th day of December, 1811, at Castle Keyvnor, Bocka Morrow, Cornwall.

TEMPTED AT CHRISTMAS includes:

Kate Pearce’s And a Pigeon in a Pear Tree
When stuffy Benjamin Priske, Baron Saxelby, heir to the Earl of Widcome arrives at Castle Keyvnor, he not only falls in love at first sight, but is accidentally mistaken for his valet. As he spends time with Henrietta, the witty, beautiful, and self-assured granddaughter of the castle housekeeper, he’s increasingly reluctant to reveal his true identity and spoil the most remarkable days of his life. Can Benjamin overcome his rigid nature, embrace the magical nature of Keyvnor castle, and maybe indulge in a fairytale romance all of his own?

Jane Charles’ His Mistletoe Miss
Anthony Beck, Viscount Redgrave, has always done what was expected of his title and station. Ever the dutiful son, he abides by his mother’s requests even when they tend to the ridiculous. There is no other reason, after all, that he would visit a gypsy camp to acquire a piece of dead mistletoe that should rejuvenated itself once he is on the path of true love. Luckily at the gypsy camp, he happens upon the one lady he’s always wanted to court. Unfortunately, she’s in love with her guardian… Miss Holly Prescott is not in love with her guardian. It is her duty, however, to make certain that nefarious young ladies with hopes of becoming his duchess, don’t trap him into a loveless marriage. While attending the Christmas Eve weddings at Castle Keyvnor, Holly learns that the nearby gypsies could be of help in that regard. However, she did not expect to stumble upon the handsome and oh-so-honorable Lord Redgrave in the process.

Elizabeth Essex’s A Merry Devil
Captain Matthew Kent has always been bound by his service to the Royal Navy. But when the Admiralty rewards him handsomely for cleaning out a nest of Cornwall smugglers, he is tempted to throw it all away for a second chance with Tressa Teague, the very woman he should not admire—a smuggler. Tressa is the daughter of the vicar, expected to be everything sweetness and light. But instead she has the heart of a pirate. She thought she’d seen the last of the dangerous sea captain who left her heartbroken before. But when he returns to the rugged coast of Cornwall to offer her the chance of a lifetime, will she lose her freedom, or only her heart?

This one is full of adventure! I was hooked as soon as she started making her plans in smuggling and loved that this connects to last years story. I loved how they thought alike and were upfront with each other. They really did set off on a dangerous adventure, but I could never see them doing anything else. I did not expect the twist with his sister at the end.

Tressa very much has the heart of a pirate and the mind for planning. She was determined to have her freedom and help other women have theirs. I loved how she knew pretty much everything about him and how she could figure out things.

Matthew knew where his heart was and it wasn’t where his family thought. I loved how he knew she was up to something and didn’t question offering her that adventure. He couldn’t fool anyone in his family.

Kate Pearce’s And a Pigeon in a Pear Tree

I love a love at first sight story that has the twist of mistaken identity. I was hooked right away when he arrived and all the confusion started. I loved how the name came into play a bit with the story. I did not know how it would all play out and was on the edge of my seat when he was found out because of the reactions. Loved the twist with her family! Loved seeing Benedict work his magic again.

Henrietta doesn’t expect much from anyone because of her family and past. I loved that she spoke her mind and decided what she wanted with no regrets. She had her reasons for thinking the way she did.

Benjamin has always taken care of others and never expected to be mistaken for his valet. I loved him right away because he got caught up in being free and not being seen for only his title. He knew what his heart wanted and went for it.

Jane Charles’ His Mistletoe Miss

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

Spice Level: 💋1/2

This hooked me from the start because of the ghosts being around so many things going on. The mistletoe was a very unique item and I loved how it didn’t work the way he thought it would. I loved how they both thought the other loved someone else or didn’t notice the other. The treasure, knights, and all the ghost being around definitely kept me wanting to know more about everything. I have another favorite ghost in this one.

Holly wasn’t afraid of the ghosts at all and was determined to protect her guardian. I loved her secret and that she would talk to the ghosts. She didn’t really hide her thoughts or feelings and was someone you would want as a friend.

Anthony was just going to make his mother happy but hoped it worked the way he wanted. I loved when he found out how she felt about her guardian and how he reacted to the mistletoe when it worked. He wasn’t going to wait either in the end.

KISSED AT CHRISTMAS

includes:

Christina McKnight’s Bound By the Christmastide Moon
Silas Anson has spent his life dealing with other people’s mistakes. Now, as the Earl of Lichfield, he has a plan that will protect his siblings, and give him a chance at a normal life. His arranged marriage to Mallory Hughes should be perfect—except for one thing: she sees visions of the future. When a man determined to free himself from the shackles of the past marries a woman with precognition, happiness in the present may be just a kiss under the Christmastide moon away.

Ava Stone’s Once Upon a Midnight Clear
Only a duke will do for Lady Ivy Dallimore. If her unhappily married sisters have taught her anything, it’s that love is fleeting but a title lasts forever, which is all well and good in theory until she finds herself falling for the scandalous third son of a marquess who is bound and determined to make his fortune in trade! Lord Michael Beck courts scandal, living life to the fullest and dabbling in games of chance. Unfortunately, he’s neither heir nor spare to his father’s title, and the time has come to enter a profession. Michael is no soldier, and he certainly isn’t cut out for the cloth, so he embarks on the most scandalous and risky venture of his life. He will need capital, however, and collecting a number of outstanding gambling debts at a Christmas Eve wedding at Castle Keyvnor seems like the perfect place to start, at least until he stumbles across the lady of his dreams. But what are the odds the practiced gambler can win the girl without losing everything he’s worked for?

Michelle Willingham’s The Sweetest Christmas
Lady Marjorie despises the idea of marriage. After being engaged to a man who tried to command every aspect of her life, from what she wore to what she ate, she refuses to consider matrimony again. Though she isn’t at all opposed to playing matchmaker for her cousin… Sir William Crandall is startled when Lady Marjorie believes he is a shy, withdrawn knight in need of a wife. He has nothing at all in common with her bluestocking cousin, but he is fascinated by the spirited Lady Marjorie. Despite her attempts at matchmaking, he intends to avoid marriage at all costs, after being abandoned at the altar. But a stolen kiss, a feast of gingerbread, and two unexpected friends find that there is magic in the Christmas holiday and a match that neither of them expected…

The Christmastide moon is magical. I was hooked from the start, but as soon as she had a vision I couldn’t put it down. I loved how things played out to bring them together and the twists with his family and the vision were totally unexpected. There are a couple of characters that I really hope to see again. I also wondered about his parents.

Mallory is not a shy little girl like you think at first. I loved her as soon as she followed him and showed that she wasn’t shy at all. She knew her vision would come true and was going to do something.

Silas has always taken care of his siblings and will do anything to protect them. I loved that he didn’t jump to judge and was very open to everything. I loved how he was with his brother too.

Once Upon a Midnight Clear by Ava Stone

Ava does it again with the ghosts in the castle and causing me to jump. I was hooked from the start with how different they are from each other. I loved the back and forth between them and how everyone saw what was between them. I did not see the twist coming with the governess at all and thought it was the ghosts. The ending was perfect and I loved seeing Oscar the poodle again.

Ivy does come off as very spoiled and stuck up, but she really is afraid of her heart. I loved her once she started to let her guard down and when others said the same things about her sisters it explained her more. She is a favorite of mine.

Michael is determined to make a name for himself and get the girl he wants. I loved him right away because he didn’t want to live off of his father and that he didn’t hide his feelings about her. He knew how to charm everyone.

This one will definitely spook you! I loved it from the start because the ghosts were up to their tricks again. From their first meeting, I knew it was going to be fun since he was not shy at all. I loved that because of their pasts they had no plans to marry but were drawn together. I loved seeing my favorite ghost Benedict again! There is a new ghost in this one that is terrifying and the pirate one again that I hope to find out more about. I loved her mother when she told her husband what she thought.

Marjorie does not hold back at all when it comes to something she sets her mind on. I loved her right away because she wasn’t going to let someone control her. She wasn’t really afraid of the ghosts and I loved her at the card game.

William wanted to prove he had moved on. He learned quickly to believe in the ghosts and that he had truly loved on. I loved him right away because he did seem shy at first and then when he talked to his ex I loved it.

Regards,
Mr. Timothy Hunt, Esq.

SPELLBOUND, The Haunting of Castle Keyvnor includes:

Claire Delacroix’s Something Wicked This Way Comes
Seven years ago, Sophia Brisbane lost everything—her father, her brother, her family fortune—but worse, was rejected by the man she loved. She’s determined not to yearn for the past and its pleasures—until she encounters Lucien de Roye again. Although he knew Sophia could never be his own, Lucien vowed to retrieve her squandered inheritance—even wagering his very soul to a demon. When Sophia learns what he has done, no force on heaven or earth will convince her to let him pay the demon’s due, no matter what the cost to herself.

Jane Charles’s Her Gypsy Lord
Lady Charlotte Beck craves just one little adventure, which is nearly impossible as her older brothers are the most diligent of chaperones. However, when her family is summoned to Castle Keyvnor for the reading of her great-uncle’s will, Charlotte can hardly contain her excitement. Ghosts, magic and gypsies seem to be the ingredients to the adventure she’s been searching for. However when she meets Adam Vail in the nearby gypsy camp, it may be another adventure all together that calls to her soul…if she can survive Castle Keyvnor and one very murderous ghost.

Claudia Dain’s Lady Ghost and Lord Death: A Love Story
Hal Mort, Viscount Blackwater, visits Keyvnor Castle in the company of friends and atop his new stallion. How was he to know that ghosts awaited him? Hal does not believe in ghosts. Unfortunately for Hal, the ghosts take an interest in him. One ghost wants to see him married to the lovely Lady Morgan. Another ghost is just as determined to see him slip the noose. As the ghosts work their supernatural magic, Hal can’t determine if the intense attraction he feels for Morgan is coming from him or from them. And after a few magical kisses, he’s not sure he cares.

The Haunting of Castle Keyvnor includes twelve Regency romance novellas. Don’t miss the anthologies Vexed, Bedeviled, and Mystified.

This one is very different. I wasn’t really into the selling his soul thing, but it made sense as it went on. I loved how they ran into each other again and both were shocked to see each other. I did love the ending and how everything wrapped up perfectly with one person getting what they deserved.

Sophia has been doing what she must to keep going and be hidden. I liked her because she spoke her mind and was quick to make a plan. Her backstory will make you understand her a lot.

Lucien’s heart was in the right place when he made that wager. I was afraid that it really changed into a different person, but the real him kept coming through. I did like that he had planned everything out.

Love the details in this one! The ghost in this one is one of the most terrifying out of all of them. I loved how his grandmother’s was in everything and working her own magic. Her brothers can make you laugh with how protective they are and how they act about things. I loved the wedding and the stuff with his grandfather.

Charlotte definitely loves adventure and wants proof before she will believe. I loved how determined she was when she wanted to do something and that she followed her heart. She was good at shocking her brothers.

Adam is one of a kind because he is in between two very different worlds with his family. I loved him from the start because of how he doesn’t look down on anyone. He is the perfect match for her.

Claudia Dain’s Lady Ghost and Lord Death: A Love Story

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

I loved how different this one was because the ghosts were a big part of the story. They instantly had something between them and just needed a bit of help. There are two stories going on that affect each other and it plays out perfectly for everyone. The ending was amazing and I didn’t want it to end.

Morgan is a girl that does not believe in anything that she has been told about the castle. I loved her personality and that she wasn’t fazed by everything in the castle even though it affected her. She did jump to a conclusion at one point but realized she shouldn’t have.

Hal didn’t know what the ghost had in store for him. I loved that he was more open than he thought and how much he cared about his horse and dog. He was nothing like his nickname, but it could creep you out at first.

The perfect ending to a mystery! I loved it from the start and how everything kept me waiting to know how it would end. Molly adds a whole lot to the story with her interesting ways. The added mystery of the book was amazing and I loved how it brought everything together in the end. I did not see it coming when it was revealed who the murder I had my suspicions on the person, but wasn’t sure and thought something else.

Ophelia is my favorite out of the girls. She decided to go on her own adventure instead of following her friends around. I loved how she was with everyone especially Molly and that she wasn’t going to give up.

Colin is on a mission to end his family war and make his grandmother happy. The way he is with his grandmother will melt your heart and make you love him. I loved him right away and in the end when he was talking with his father.

Brynnde Archambault needs to find someone to marry, else she’ll be stuck with dull Mr. Dallweather. The answer to her problem arrives in the form of handsome and witty Viscount Burbridge, but just when everything seems to be going smoothly, scandal strikes and the engagement ends.

Meanwhile, Brynnde has no trouble matchmaking her friends and even her own brother. But while she breezily finds suitors for everyone else, for her time is running out. Must she resign herself to becoming Mrs. Dallweather? Or will Brynnde yet succeed in making a match for herself?

“Brynnde” is a light, bubbly, and sweet Regency romance in the vintage style of Zebra and Signet.

So many matches going on in this story make it very entertaining. This one is different because of how things played out with everyone from the start. You get to know and love all the characters throughout the story. I loved that I didn’t see the scandal coming like it did and how it affected everyone around it. I loved how she got her name.

Brynnde had no wish to be married, but when given no choice she must decide. I loved that she wanted to make sure everyone was happy even when she was sick and facing marrying someone she didn’t want.

Garrick didn’t do something unless he wanted to. I loved how he had a habit of saying something and it comes out wrong. He will have your heart with how he takes care of her and listens to her.

The mystery continues! I love that this one picks up from the last one and that the beginning is from Luci’s point of view so it adds to the mystery and I still can’t figure out everything. The way her father was with everyone was shocking and I wondered if he was involved in anything because he was so cruel. The way they met is one of my favorite scenes because it’s very different. I loved they way they got her father to leave her alone and her mother who is very much like her.

Luci is definitely strong and independent. She is determined to take down any men that she believes have done wrong and to not marry who her father decides. I loved her every time she stood up to her father and when she set her mind to do something.

Roderick wanted nothing more than to find out who ruined his father. I was worried about him at first, but he quickly showed his heart and that he would help Luci. I loved him as soon as he met her father and when he told her about what happened.

I can’t wait for the next one!

If you love Outlander then I think you will love this book! I’m not much for time travel, but this one is amazing and doesn’t have a lot of time travel. I was hooked from the start when they met because they were a match for each other in different ways. The mystery is a good one and even though I could figure out most parts there were still some twists that I didn’t see coming. this one gave me book hangover at the end.

Rose is a favorite heroine of mine. She is independent, a painter, and has a mind for business. I loved her right away because she was so open to everything and didn’t panic or run from anything even the portal. I did not see the twist about her coming and it was perfect.

Alex will break your heart. He was stuck in his own past and Rose was the answer to his healing. He was out of place, but fit in most of the time and I loved that he jumped to help anyone. I didn’t know if he would stay or leave until the end and then I was afraid something would happen.

I highly recommend this book because it’s different in many ways.

Sophia has sacrificed everything for her younger sister, Lucy. She has removed them from the only home they ever knew, taken on the care of Lucy’s illegitimate son, George, and even assumed the role of a widow and mother in order to erase all hint of scandal from the boy’s birth. But rumor continues to follow them like the darkest of clouds, and Sophia must adapt to her new existence as a false widow with no prospects beyond the doors of her small cottage.

Lord Haughton will stop at nothing to prevent the slightest whiff of disgrace from tainting his family’s name. When he learns of his younger brother’s latest indiscretion-one that leaves a bastard child in his wake-Haughton rushes across the country to offer the boy’s mother a comfortable living in exchange for her silence about the child’s true parentage. But he arrives only to have his generous offer thrown back in his face by Sophia Brixton, a sharp-tongued and sharper-witted woman who proceeds to toss him out of her house. But just because he is banished from her home does not mean he is so easily banished from her life.

This one will have you hooked from the start. Both of them will do anything to protect their siblings. I loved how they never saw eye to eye, but both wanted what was best for Goerge and just needed to meet in the middle somehow. The moment they met you knew there would be sparks. His brother and her sister were shockingly different from them and didn’t think about much before doing it. The ending left me wanting more.

Sophia’s personality matched her red hair. I loved that she spoke her mind and stood her ground. I loved that she didn’t lay blame on others and how she started to understand why Finn was the way he was.

Finnian didn’t really get along with people, but he tried to take care of everything. He comes off as cold and uncaring but really isn’t. I understood him more as soon as he talked to his brother.

My Review

One of my favorite types of romance is gothic suspense and this one is now a favorite! It gave me chills and that’s what I want from a story like this. Every time something was revealed no matter how small it was shocking because I did not see it coming. The big secret and the reason for it are terrifying but explain so much. The romance isn’t completely front and center, but I don’t mind it with stories like this one. When I got to the end I wanted more.

Katherine is someone that when she sets her mind to do it then look out. I loved her from the start because she boldly showed up at the house and didn’t run at the sign of something was wrong. She could stand her ground and fight if needed.

Thomas is complicated and runs hot and cold but for good reasons. He guards his heart and those around him because of the past and it can break your heart. You have to get to know him throughout the book to love and understand him. When he lets his guard down he really does.
