In Vanessa Kelly’s captivating series, three young women are descended from royalty–in the most improper way. But that doesn’t stop them from pursuing lives rich in adventure. . .

Lia Kincaid, illegitimate daughter of the Duke of York, comes from a long line of notorious women. Raised by her grandmother, formerly mistress to the late Marquess of Lendale, she has little hope of a respectable marriage. But the new marquess, her childhood friend, Jack Easton, would make a very desirable protector . . . if he weren’t too honorable to take her to bed.

It’s bad enough being saddled with a title he never desired. Now Jack must resist the beautiful woman he desires far too much. Duty calls, and he is duty-bound to choose a wealthy bride. But then Lia makes another outrageous suggestion: asking Jack to devise some tests to find her the perfect paramour. Tests that involve flirting, kissing, and other pleasurable pursuits. Tests that, in a matter of weeks, could transform friendship into the ton’s greatest scandal, igniting a passion even duty can’t deny. . .

My Review

*I received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

Two stubborn people make for great passion. From the start, I knew this was going to be a great story. There were both so stubborn that they would set their minds to something and misunderstand each other at times. I loved the back and forth and how it would erupt into passion. I did not see the twist coming with her friend near the end and how it would turn out. I loved how much family was involved and seeing characters for the first book again.

Lia was so determined to take care of herself and her grandmother that she was willing to follow the same path. Trouble followed her everywhere and sometimes it was very dangerous. I loved how she kept trying to do things and take care of everyone else first.

Jack has never had a problem with Lia or her family because they were like family to him. I loved that when he tried to explain something it always came out wrong and backfired on him. He realized that accepting help is okay and that love is important.

This is an amazing series and has so many amazing characters that I hope to see again.

My Review

*I received a copy of the box set in exchange for my honest review.

I love the setting of this one! I never was sure what was going to happen with them because they both and things in their pasts that affected them.  I loved that they were both going to help Rose and the wager they had.  The ending was perfect and I didn’t want to put it down.

Kate survived her first marriage and didn’t believe in love anymore. Every time the guy she was thinking of marrying came around I wanted to scream no! I wanted to jump and down when she realized you could love again.

Benjamin had a passion for his job. I loved him and his sister and the how much he loved his job. I wasn’t expecting his reasons for never going home or what his boss told him. I was very happy in the end about where they were going.

Sophia has sacrificed everything for her younger sister, Lucy. She has removed them from the only home they ever knew, taken on the care of Lucy’s illegitimate son, George, and even assumed the role of a widow and mother in order to erase all hint of scandal from the boy’s birth. But rumor continues to follow them like the darkest of clouds, and Sophia must adapt to her new existence as a false widow with no prospects beyond the doors of her small cottage.

Lord Haughton will stop at nothing to prevent the slightest whiff of disgrace from tainting his family’s name. When he learns of his younger brother’s latest indiscretion-one that leaves a bastard child in his wake-Haughton rushes across the country to offer the boy’s mother a comfortable living in exchange for her silence about the child’s true parentage. But he arrives only to have his generous offer thrown back in his face by Sophia Brixton, a sharp-tongued and sharper-witted woman who proceeds to toss him out of her house. But just because he is banished from her home does not mean he is so easily banished from her life.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This one will have you hooked from the start. Both of them will do anything to protect their siblings. I loved how they never saw eye to eye, but both wanted what was best for Goerge and just needed to meet in the middle somehow. The moment they met you knew there would be sparks. His brother and her sister were shockingly different from them and didn’t think about much before doing it. The ending left me wanting more.

Sophia’s personality matched her red hair. I loved that she spoke her mind and stood her ground. I loved that she didn’t lay blame on others and how she started to understand why Finn was the way he was.

Finnian didn’t really get along with people, but he tried to take care of everything. He comes off as cold and uncaring but really isn’t. I understood him more as soon as he talked to his brother.

What happens when London’s longest reigning rake decides to make mischief?
Born of scandal and raised in squalor, Miss Harry O’Connell turned her back on her feckless, frivolous father and carved out a life for herself in the working-class neighborhood of Wellclose Square. She’s a creature of habit, a stickler for schedules, a keeper of secrets, and a woman adamantly opposed to wasting so much a single minute – let alone a spare shilling – on useless endeavors, sentimental nonsense or impossible expectations.
Opposites attract…
With three men standing between Phineas Griffith and the nearest title, he was perfectly content to float through life on a wave of mistakes, mishaps, coincidences and luck. Two unfortunate accidents and an apoplectic fit later, the new Viscount Knighton finds himself saddled with a decimated estate, a mountain of debt and two sisters in need of launching into Society in tandem. There’s really nothing for it but to woo and wed an heiress post haste.
Orbits align…
An unwelcome visit from the Earl of Dunaway sets in motion a convoluted chain of events that put Harry on a collision course with the handsome fortune-hunter. And wreak havoc with her meticulously managed, precisely timed and exactingly organized life.
Worlds collide…
Phineas cannot afford the luxury of falling in love with a prickly, pragmatic and penniless woman. Harry hasn’t the time or inclination to dally with a charming rake when all her considerable talents are aimed at laying waste to all the Earl of Dunaway holds dear.
And chaos ensues.
Some forces are greater than gravity and some chances worth taking. Can these two star crossed-lovers find the wherewithal to risk it all for a happily-ever-after that defies all odds?

My Review

*I was provided a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

Opposites really do attract in this case. This one is a bit slow at first, but to fully understand them you need everything that happens in this book. I loved how there was so much bringing them together and they didn’t know it. There are many players involved and they all play an important part in everything. So much happened near the end and I loved what happened with her and her father.

Harry is a different woman and I loved her. She is determined to make her way on her own and is doing it in her own unique way.  I loved her right away because of how she was with her schedule and her sisters. She would do anything to make sure they were happy.

Phineas isn’t your typical fortune hunter. He needed to fix the estate and take care of his two sisters. I loved how when he tried to do or say something it got messed up and ended the wrong way. But once he knew what he wanted he set out to get it and listened when he should.

A mix of some of my favorite things a heroine that is doing a man’s job, a hero that is haunted by his past and the queen! This is a bit of a love at first sight story that leaps off the pages. I loved how quickly everything happened and the twist once they got back to London. The ending was perfect.

Octavia is very much independent and out to do her job. I loved everything about her because she was serious about her job, but also very caring and bold.

Killian has hidden for different reasons than most think. I loved how took care of others and when he realized what he needed to do.

Cast in Scandal by Laura Landon

Scandal runs wild in London some known and some not. This one was great because I somewhat knew was behind everything, but there was still a small twist in it. I loved all of the scenes at the balls since there was always some kind of action good and bad. They were meant to find each other and it just took a crime to do it.

Alyssa is a very strong and innocent woman. She keeps her head high no matter what people say and is determined to take her place in society again. I loved her as soon as she walked into the ballroom and how she acted.

Edward has a very shocking secret that has kept him and his family mostly out of sight. But he is also a strong and smart man even if he comes off as cold at first. I loved how he was with his family.

This one provided some giggles and some different things and I loved that. The beginning was awesome and hooked me right away. I loved their meeting and her aunt even though she could be a little out there in what she said and did, but she cared about her niece. I thought things would happen one way, but they happened another way.

Irenna doesn’t trust many men because of something that happened, but she also has an eye for seeing the truth. I loved how she could fight if she had to and was brave in what she did.

Anthony definitely could be a peacock and make you smile. I loved him from the start and the show he put on. I also loved his fighting skills and how quick he was to react to things.

A Spy To Call My Own by Rebecca Paula

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

Spice Level: 💋💋💋1/2

I loved that this one is set in Africa and that the heroine is a suffragette! It was definitely a scary adventure in Africa for both while trying to uncover the answers for her brother’s death. There were a couple of sneaky twists in this one that I couldn’t figure who was behind anything or if they were even connected until the end. I also loved that they actually knew each other already.

Vera was definitely a suffragette and I loved that. When she set her mind to something to meant to do it no matter what. She didn’t seem to ever second guess herself or really jump to conclusions.

Owen knew that his friend’s death wasn’t as it seemed. He did his job and he did it very well. I loved how he just said what he was thinking when it came to everything and tried to get her back home.

Tempting the Scoundrel by Lana Williams

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤

Spice Level: 💋

I loved this one from the start. As soon as they met I knew sparks were going to fly both good and bad. His grandmother was so much fun with how she had a plan and you didn’t argue with her. I loved the back and forth between them and when everything happened at the concert hall. The ending was great too.

Sophia was a determined girl. She could see there was something in him that didn’t match his reputation. I loved how she fought with herself because of what her aunt had drilled into her.

Elliott will have your heart from the start because of how he is with his grandmother. He hates to lie but has to so he can protect those around him. I loved how he was with everyone he talked to because he was kind.

It’s not just a game its a war. I loved everything about this book especially this family. I had no clue how things would turn out and didn’t want to put it down. There was an insist attraction that they both fought, but there was a reason for everything that happened. I was not expecting how the inheritance turned out or the perfect ending.

Lucy is one of my favorite heroines! She doesn’t hold back anything and I love that. She had a good reason for her secret, but it didn’t hold her back from what she wanted and she went for what she wanted. I loved when she told Max her offer and when she declared war.

Max won my heart right away. He will do anything to protect his siblings and you hope that it will all turn out for the best for him because everything he does is for a good reason. He did always have a plan and his final plan was perfect.

I loved this one and now will have to get the other books in the series because this family is very interesting.

Normally I don’t like ones at this spice level, but I loved this one. I loved that it was set in France, that there was a small mystery surrounding that night, and a twist at the end I did expect. There is a lot of steam in this one, but enough of a story to balance it out for me.

Catherine had her reasons for what she did five years ago and the memory of that night has stayed with her. Once she told her whole story everything made sense and I loved her.

Adrien is not shy at all about the life he lives, but he is still loveable. There is something about how he wanted answers about that night that makes you love him because it wasn’t for bad reasons.

COURTSHIP WAS NEVER SO SCANDALOUS

The grandson of an unconventional marquis and son of a notorious woman, Elijah Watson, Marquis of Ridgefeld, has spent most of his life outside of London. His atypical upbringing has left him longing for roots and a traditional family life, and he’s determined to live his life above reproach. When he meets Miss Samantha Pengarden, he believes he’s found the woman he wants to marry—except she has other far more sensual ideas for him.

Known throughout the ton as the illegitimate rebellious daughter of London’s disreputable Craven House Madame, Samantha has never had to face the world without her shy twin by her side—until now. Her sister’s marriage and the return of her blackguard father leaves her alone and adrift. When Elijah agrees to escort her to the town’s most infamous establishments, she thinks she’s finally found a man with a taste for scandal and a knowledge of matters of the flesh.

But she never counted on Elijah being so honorable. When Samantha is listed as the mistress of the Marquis of Ridgefeld in White’s betting book, her reputation is in ruins—and only Elijah can save her. Can two total opposites come together for a love certain to last a lifetime?

My Review

*I received a copy via NetGalley

I knew Samantha’s story was going to be an adventure and I was right. The pain of their pasts brings them together to help and understand each other in many ways. I really liked that it picked up with her sister’s wedding and continued a bit of the story. I loved that they were opposites on some things, but not on others because it was like it made them think and understand each other. Their chemistry was amazing and the sparks definitely were flying.  The ending was perfect and I liked how it was working out with her father.

Samantha is not shy and can come close to be scandalous in her behavior, but that’s why I love her. She was in a limbo over her sister getting married and then her father showing up and it was heartbreaking because not everyone saw it. I loved her personality.

Elijah is a bit quieter and more careful, but just as adventurous if not more. He was in his own limbo over his grandfather and mother and no one knew the whole story. I loved how he was a bit out of place in the city after all of his travels, but still fit in at the same time.

I can’t wait to see what else Christina has in store for this series. I hope to see more on Samantha’s father and Elijah’s mother.

My Review

*I was provided a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review

An amazing start to a series! I read this in one sitting because I could not put it down. When you have a father that is crazy and will do anything to make sure you marry who he wants and for crazy reasons, a lady only has one choice. And that to run off all the men that her father has picked with some very interesting plans. I loved all the unexpected twists in the story and differences between Lilly and Max. They were made for each other, but both had reasons they didn’t want to get married and the back and forth was great. I loved the ending and many of the characters.

Lily is very smart and wants to be free from her father for good reason. I loved how she ran off the men and how she got her cousins to help. Her ancestry was unexpected and very different from others and I loved it. My heart broke at her fears of what it would be like to be married and have children, but her reasons were totally understandable. She has some great skills to help people.

Max is pretty much the perfect man in the eyes of everyone and for good reason. I loved him from the start when he met with his father and the work he did. He had no plans to marry and to avoid her, but curiosity drew him to her. I liked that he never gave up on understanding her. At one time I wanted to knock him upside the head, but he quickly realized his mistake. The lengths he went to in the end was amazing.

Loved her cousins and his whole family especially his mother. I was shocked about Wesley and hope to see him again along with her cousins.

Thomas Barclay, future Viscount Grantham, is bored to tears and looking for a distraction. When his old friend Baron Tisbury asks for help in tracking down his missing fiancee, Tom decides to make himself useful.

Caught between two worlds, Bianca must figure out which man holds the keys to her heart.

My Review

This one will pull at your heart and have you on the edge of your seat. From the start, it was clear that Tisbury was not someone any girl would want to marry and Bianca and her sisters had a good plan. I loved how instantly she was drawn to Emilian and wasn’t sure who she would end up with because Emil and Tom were both good men that would take care of her.

Bianca is not one to be controlled. I loved her as soon as she told Tisbury what might happen to him in the garden. She spoke her mind and didn’t hide her feelings from anyone. She was so torn between them and she struggled with the choice.

Emil was very much the gentleman and was willing to do anything to protect Bianca. His story was shocking and made my heart ache for him. I loved what he offered to her if she married him and how he was with his mother.

Tom was a gentleman too and knew what Tisbury was so he had his own plans. He set out to protect her and found himself wanting to be with her. He could break your heart too with how he gave up things for his family and his sister.

I can’t wait to read the next one and find out what happens.
