Lady Aloria has experienced firsthand what balls, betrothals, and the ensuing betrayals can do to a woman. To heal her heart, Aloria’s aim is to simply survive her final grand ball before her twenty-fourth birthday, and hope that her parents finally come to terms with her spinsterhood and allow her to retire to the country in peace.

Unfortunately, Marcus Adair, the Duke of Wolfeton, has other plans for her future. In town to secure a bride, he has set his sights on Aloria, and no other woman will do. But after a chance meeting in a darkened hallway, Marcus realizes he not only needs Aloria in his life; he desires her above all others.

Can Lady Aloria forget her scandalous past to build a future with the Duke of Wolfeton?

My Review

I loved this one and couldn’t put it down. Sparks were flying with their first meeting and I was cheering him on throughout the story. Her parents are very different from most and truly want to see her safe and happy after everything that has happened. I loved that the person trying to put them together was not someone you would expect. Things worked out perfectly in the end.

Aloria is one of those heroines that many can connect with on many levels. She has put up with so much throughout her life for so many different people. I loved that she slowly came out of her shell and safe place to find happiness.

Marcus is someone that you will love instantly. He came for one reason, but quickly changed his mind and wanted to prove himself. I loved that he was ready to battle anyone that put her down and that he found his way.

Could you ever love the unrepentant rake who won you in a wager?

He didn’t gamble on losing his heart when he won her at the gaming tables.

Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe has finally thwarted his worst enemy. Except he can’t revel in his victory after winning his foe’s ward in a winner-takes-all wager. If Pierce refuses to assume Bianca Salisbury’s guardianship, the fiery-haired beauty with a matching temper may very well find herself sold to the highest bidder.

The shameful secret she guards makes it impossible to love a rogue.

Desperate to escape her blackguard cousin, Bianca Salisbury ventures to London to find a husband or employment. Instead, she’s bartered to a notorious rakehell. She either risks being compromised and accepts The Earl of Wainthorpe’s protection, or flees him and her guardian. But without money and a place to go, she fears she’ll face the same tragic fate as her mother.

Caution: This romance features a sexy, irredeemable scoundrel determined to thumb his nose at the haut ton, a saucy country miss unafraid to speak her mind but terrified of even a hint of scandal, a unlikely aristocratic matchmaker, a trio of busybody sisters you’ll adore, and a very pregnant calico that is convinced humans are only around for her convenience.

For a page-turning Historical Romance novel brimming with Regency England’s rakish dukes and rapscallion lords, buy this passionate adventure sprinkled with suspense and humor. You won’t be able to put it down.

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is a page-turner! I was hooked as soon as that wager happened during the card game. I loved how their romance developed because it took time to fully happen. They were the perfect match for each other because they both had something the other needed. I did not expect all of the stuff about her family and it was not what I had thought.

Bianca is a stubborn and will not rely on others to take care of her. I loved how strong she was and that she did so many things herself. At first, she comes off differently, but you quickly love her.

Pierce is set on revenge, but he also has a big heart. I loved him as soon as his sisters set in on him because of how he was with them. He was not exactly as he seemed to the outside world.

Series: Craven House

Author: Christina McKnight

Genre: Historical Romance, Regency

Release Date: January 4, 2018

THERE’S A FINE LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE.

Despite being thrown from her home and stripped of her place in society at a young age, Madame Marce Davenport is proud of what she’s accomplished with her family and the notoriously scandalous Craven House. Except it’s all built on a lie. When an arrogant duke strode into her home years ago, offering her a way to keep the brothel open, she agreed to his game of deception. But now that her siblings have found their happiness, Marce can finally live the life she’s always wanted: one that embraces the truth. And that means severing ties with the man who has claimed too many of her days—both in reality, and fantasy.

Rowan Delconti, the Duke of Harwich, has been angry for so long: at his father, at the woman who broke apart his parents’ marriage, and at the children who won is father’s love. He’s determined his mother won’t be unhappy again—even if it means pretending to be married to Marce, so that his mother will think he’s found love in his life. But the beautiful madame fuels his fire like no other, and the charade starts to feel all too real.

When Marce and Rowan’s secrets finally come to light, their passion may not be enough to staunch the hurt of the past. Can two people who were so wrong for each other, realize they’ve been right all along?

The women in this family are not to be messed with! As soon as he walked into the house and offered her that deal I was glued because it is a shocking and different deal. This is another journey of needing to let go of the past and understand things. When they started fighting I thought it was going to be a throw down because of how built up the feelings were. Everyone needs a friend like Tobias in their life and a mother like Rowan’s. The ending was exactly what I was hoping for!

Marce will not let anyone dictate to life anymore and she had a plan. I loved her right away because she wasn’t afraid to voice her opinion and tell him the truth. But also wasn’t going to waste her breath with him at times. She does amazing work in London that was very much needed.

Rowan does everything to keep his mother happy. It was clear from the start of much he loved his mother but hated his father. You have to get to know him and understand him before you like him. Once he let go of everything he was amazing.

*Note: This short story is part of the WILLOW CREEK SERIES and does not stand alone. It follows directly after WILD HORSES and gives us a little glimpse at the birth of their baby.

My Review

I am so glad that Lily wrote this short story! Jesse and Alex are one of my all-time favorite couples in Willow Creek and I loved seeing this glimpse of their lives. Marriage and pregnancy definitely did not keep them from driving each other crazy. It was clear her pa would still couldn’t say no. The ending was amazing and I can’t wait for more short stories!

The Earl and Countess of Banfield cordially request your attendance at the wedding for their daughters: Lady Tamsyn Hambly to Mr. Gryffyn Cardew, & Lady Morgan Hambly to Harold Mort, Viscount Blackwater, on the 24th day of December, 1811, at Castle Keyvnor, Bocka Morrow, Cornwall.

“A Duke By Any Other Name” by Claire Delacroix
Daphne Goodenham has always been determined to wed a duke—not just because she loves fine dresses and parties, but because she wants to guarantee that she and her sister are never destitute again. When she meets the Duke of Inverfyre, a notorious fop, she immediately notices intriguing inconsistencies. Is there more to the duke than meets the eye? Why would he hide the truth if he were handsome, young, rich and a duke?

Alexander, the Duke of Inverfyre, is bent on catching a notorious thief who injured his sister, no matter what the cost. But when the lovely Miss Goodenham is bent on charming him, Alexander’s disguise proves to be no defense against her curiosity—and he has no resistance to her kiss. Will Daphne inadvertently foil Alexander’s plan? Will he have to sacrifice her interest to avenge his sister? Or can Daphne ensure Alexander’s triumph and make her own Christmas wish come true?

“Lord Locryn and the Pixie’s Kiss” by Deb Marlowe
When is a kiss actually a curse? When an irate Pixie forbids you to kiss the wrong girl—ever. Unfortunately, Lord Locryn Pendarvis has no idea why girls are falling all over themselves not to kiss him. He only knows that after a certain point, the risk of humiliation outweighs desire. Until he meets Lady Gwyn Hambly again. She’s witty, charming and beautiful—and just as interested in him as he is in her. They’ll do anything to ensure their future together—even fight the supernatural forces aligned against them.

“The Determined Duchess” by Erica Monroe
After the death of her beloved guardian, Miss Felicity Fields is left alone with an uncertain future. But this blunt bluestocking has a secret: she’s determined to resurrect her guardian through the ancient art of alchemy. The last thing she needs is the return of Nicholas Harding, the Duke of Wycliffe and rightful owner of her home on the wild coast of Cornwall. He stirs an unexpected passion within her, and Felicity has had enough change in her life.

When they were children, Nicholas never understood his aunt’s brilliant but unemotional ward, or her many scientific studies. Now, he’s determined to bring Felicity to London so that she may make a match within society–except he can’t stop thinking about her. But with the line between life and death blurred by Felicity’s experiments, can he convince her that she’s no longer alone, and her proper place is by his side?

The Pixies are back! You know when the Pixies are involved that it’s going to be interesting. I loved how the curse was both was bringing them together, but also keeping them apart. They were obviously meant to be together and everyone could see it. I loved the ritual because that was very different and something I hadn’t seen before.

Gywn loves to learn and plants and everything about an area, but she has never forgotten about that one-time meeting with him. I loved her right away because she didn’t hide her plans and was open to everything. She didn’t hide anything.

Locryn didn’t understand his curse until he arrived for the wedding. I loved that he didn’t bat an eye at what his aunt said or anything that happened. He also loved plants and learning.

This one will pull at your heart and give you goosebumps at times. I loved the spark that was between them and when it exploded it was like years built up. There’s a bit of Frankenstein vibes with her wanting to bring her back and the reason pulls at your heart. They were meant to be together and experiments brought them together.

Felicity is so different from any other heroine and I love her. She will break your heart with her reason for trying to bring her back and how long she has been trying to. It wasn’t that she needed to change who she was, but learn to understand and be around people.

Nicholas wanted to do what he thought was right for. I loved that he didn’t want to control her and wanted to help her. He was what she needed to help her deal with everything.

I couldn’t put this one down! I loved the bit of mystery and the seeds and how it all flowed together. They say each other’s true self and understood everything about each other. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen with thief and how he would be caught. The letters were perfect and I want to know if his sister finds love.

Daphne looked past the outside appearances of people and saw the truth. I loved how bold she was and that wanted to take care of her sister. She didn’t let fear stop her in the end and knew what she wanted.

Alexander was not as he appeared at all and very good it until the right person came along. I loved that he accepted his sister’s wager and was so determined to catch the thief that hurt her. He was one of those people you love right away.

I couldn’t put it until I finished it! I love how different it was with four different romances going on at the same time, but not taking away from each other. Then the search for the treasure and twists about that kept me hooked. I loved that there was matchmaking going on and none of them being matched knew it. They are all very different couples.

Each couple had something unique about them in common that helped their romances along. I loved how they all interacted with each other and the girls parents were great too.

With a sinister scheme in play to collapse the English government from within, Lord Jonathon must protect Lady Hannah from the French spies intending to use her as a pawn in their game of treachery. But can he protect her from herself?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

This is a favorite series!!! The story counties with trying to bring down the spy in this one and it even more thrilling than the last one. I was on the edge of my seat not knowing what was going to happen or how it was going to happen. It was clear from the moment they met that they were perfect for each other. I loved seeing so many from the last one and how they all worked together. I held my breath when they were talking to his mother and when they were on the ship. There was a twist at every turn with many things. The ending was great and I can’t wait for the next one!

Hannah is not a weak girl that will just sit and wait to be saved or see what happens. I loved her right away because she did what she had to and took to it like it had been her whole life. She was determined to learn to take care of herself and not be told what to do at every turn. The cover is a perfect example of her.

Jonathon was going to finish his mission, but never thought he would lose his heart in the process. I loved that he kept messing up when talking to her and that everyone could see what he couldn’t. He handled everything that was thrown at him very well and stayed calm most of the time. I would not want to get on his bad side.

She doesn’t want to be a kept woman…

Josephine Potter knows she must retain her employment to provide for her younger sisters and to maintain the house. While a young woman working as an accountant—at a hotel no less—could be frowned upon by some, it’s still a respectable way to earn a living. No matter what a certain duke might think. Besides, Josephine has a few rules she lives by: Don’t rely on others, don’t accept money from someone you don’t know, and never allow a man to control your life. But when she is fired from her job, Josephine may have to bend a few rules…

Devon, the Duke of Snowdon, has never met a more bull-headed woman than Josephine Potter! The Potter sisters are granddaughters of a Viscount and should not have to work for a living. So despite Josephine’s arguments, Devon insists she end her employee status immediately and accept a stipend for her and her sisters. When she is then fired, she accuses him of meddling in her life…and things are about to heat up despite the cold winter weather. As they work together to figure out why Devon’s hotel is losing money, a mutual attraction that won’t be denied, grows between them.

But when rumors of impropriety abound, can Josephine’s reputation be saved…or will her life be destroyed by scandal?

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

This was my favorite out of this series! From the moment they met and were at each other’s throats, I knew it was going to be great. I did not see the twist of where she worked coming or how the relationship would play out. I loved his sister and what she was up to with them.

Josephine was my favorite of the sisters because she didn’t care that he was a duke when she spoke.  I loved her as soon as called him what she did and made it clear what was going to do. She knew what she was talking about and her sisters were the top priority.

Devon was not the uptight duke he acted like and was actually very different. Once he told the story about what his father had him do I loved him. He was raised to be a duke, but also not too look down on others.

“A Love for Lady Winter” by Christy Carlyle
Lady Winifred Gissing has a secret: she sees ghosts. With this strange skill, and her odd, ethereal appearance, she knows she’ll never find acceptance among society, let alone love. But when she travels to Castle Keyvnor, she meets her aunt’s godson, Septimus Locke, the Earl of Carwarren. Scientific, rational Septimus stirs an unexpected passion in her, and she finds his experiments in galvanism fascinating. Romance sparks between them, but will his past and her unusual ability destroy their chance at happiness?

“His Christmas Angel” by Jerrica Knight-Catania
Ethan Dallimore, Duke of Westbury, would like a little peace in his life. Unfortunately, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders with one demanding sister and one always-underfoot ward. To make matters worse, he arrives at Castle Keyvnor with a debilitating headache that won’t go away. All he wants to do is sleep until it’s gone, but that’s not an option as he’s traveled to the tip of Cornwall to attend a holiday wedding, and even houseguests have their duties. However, Ethan’s desire to sleep is soon replaced with his desire to get to know the mysterious beauty whose mere presence seems to take his pain away.

Miss Angel Quinn doesn’t exactly belong at Castle Keyvnor with all its aristocratic guests, even if she does share a bloodline with some of them. But she knows it’s important to accept the invitation to her long-estranged cousins’ weddings, so she puts on her grown-up bloomers and heads for the castle. But so much more awaits her in the mystical village of Bocka Morrow, and the young witch may soon discover just who she was always meant to be.

“Lady Rose & Lord Snow” by Claudia Dain
The Grimstone has come to Castle Keyvnor. His name is Charles Snowingham and he is the Earl of Grimstone. Upon his right hand he wears the Grimstone ring, an ancient ring imbued with, it is said, ancient power to destroy ghosts and ghouls and otherworldly things. Snow is not the sort of man to believe in fairy tales, until he arrives in Castle Keyvnor, that is, and he meets Lady Rose Hambly.

Lady Rose is determined to escape her ancestral home, Castle Keyvor. She’s not about to admit it publicly, but there is a certain ghost at the castle who is haunting her. Since her sisters Morgan and Tamsyn are being wed on Christmas, and since the castle will be awash with eligible men, she is determined to find a husband as quickly as possible, if only to get away from Castle Keyvnor and her impossible ghost.

What Lady Rose and Lord Snow do not realize is that the ghosts of Keyvnor want them away from the castle immediately, if not sooner. The Grimstone ring spells their doom, and Rose’s ghost doesn’t want to haunt her just as fervently as she wishes not to be haunted. Will Rose take romantic advice from a ghost who does nothing but insult her? Not willingly.

I really loved this one! I was hooked from the start because she could see ghosts and then because they both were unique. The way they first met was very different and really said a lot about love and them. I loved her aunts and that there were secrets surrounding everyone.

Winifred has spent a long time keeping secrets to protect her family and needs to be free. I loved her right away because she wanted to help the ghosts she saw. She needed to let it all out and set herself free.

Septimus needs to let his anger free and forgive before he can be free. I loved him because he was so different and the things he did. He wanted to learn so much and everything.

This may be my favorite in this series! I loved that this one involved witches and a unique way of bringing them together. I had no clue as to why she was being affected in the castle they way she was until it was made clear. They needed each other before they even met and the castle brought them together.

Angel had been for years trying to find out what her gift was and didn’t know it was there all along. I loved that she was on a journey for herself and found love too. She didn’t back down and was very open with people.

Ethan was plagued not only by his sister and ward but also a huge headache that nothing helped. I loved that he was instantly drawn to her and didn’t know why. He was more open than you would think to everything.

The Grimstone ring will definitely make you sit up and pull you into this story. I love that this one was all about destiny and that included some favorite ghosts. So many things were working to bring them together for different reasons. Once they were both in the castle it’s fast from there. I was sad but also happy to see a favorite ghost go.

Rose was completely serious about finding a husband right away even though her plan does go as planned. I loved that she spoke her mind and that people knew she was serious. She was extremely sensitive to the ghost especially one.

Charles wore the ring and thought nothing about the legend about it no matter what his grandmother said. I loved that as soon as he got to the castle he was pulled towards her and didn’t know why. He understood her more than anyone else.

A chance meeting…

Eve Potter can hardly wait to arrive at Amberly Hall for the Christmas season! The hope is that she will make a match with an eligible gentleman. But as fate would have it, she misses the coach that is sent to collect her from her point of arrival, and starts out on foot…only to go in the wrong direction. Nearly frozen, she arrives at Blackhall, where she is invited inside and introduced to the master of the house, the Earl of Ravenworth. Eve is smitten, for he is beyond handsome, which makes him a temptation she must avoid. But can she…?

Bryce Harlowe lives as a recluse, shunned by Society and even his own family after being accused of taking a scandalous transgression. The young woman at his door cannot stay at Blackhall less her reputation be ruined. And yet, when the pesky winter climate leaves them snowed in together at Blackhall, Bryce and Eve grow closer, each discovering a mutual respect and longing for the other. Until Bryce’s past is revealed, threatening to rip apart their newfound love…

My Review

*I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

Another great short read! I love that it picks up around the same time as the first one and continues with her sister. I was going crazy wanting to know what he had been accused of and was totally shocked by the truth. It was clear from the moment they met that they both would be fighting themselves. I loved the ending and her friend.

Eve is not as shy and quiet as you think she is. Once she started speaking her mind and easily spoke about her family I loved her. She knew the real him and wouldn’t believe stories or give up easily.

Bryce sealed himself off from the world and his family because what happened. I loved him right away because he said what he thought and was very open most of the time. He needed someone and a reason to fight and prove himself innocent.
